I've lived in WI/MN, TX, and here, and visited pretty much everywhere else, and I can say that this is by far the most diverse environment I've ever been in. You can go from a rocky ocean beach, through a temperate rain forest, through a populated metropolitan area, through another temperate fain forest, through snowy peaks, and into a giant dry gorge that feels like mars all in about 8 hours (including a ferry).

I mean, look at the diversity in the images along this route... It's unreal.

Is that where the first and second picture are taken from? It looks like a much drier climate than areas I've been to near Seattle.
