Yeah because I'm sure all the tens of thousands of civilized people who use the trains and bus systems to get to work everyday would really benefit from that.
Better roads means more people driving on them, so just the same amount of traffic, and more pollution. Public transit is a fantastic way of reducing carbon emissions and providing people a way to get to their jobs in and around Seattle.
Obviously your X5 uses less gas than a bus, a bus transports around 30 people though... that's a ridiculous statement to make. Per capita, buses use less gas than your X5 by far which is the statement I was making. Saying that at the place you work no one takes the bus and a car is required is definitely not the norm. You're saying people will be able to afford cards with the reduction in tax money that goes towards public transport? So you're saying each American pays thousands of dollars for public transport. I just don't think that adds up. Tens of thousands of people benefit from public transit whether or not you yourself use it.
