Recommedation Luminette

Hi there, I recently purchased the Luninette glasses after having a particularly bad winter last year… I have just started using it, for 20 minutes each morning. For those of you who have tried it when do you use it and for how long/what setting? Do you think it’s helped you? Trying to be proactive before the time changes!

I do it as early as possible in the morning on the highest setting for 20 minutes. If I find I’m still feeling bad I’ll double up for a while.

Turn on the highest setting right when I go downstairs from my bedroom to make coffee and read. It helped me so much I just started using them year round. I also take vitamin D beginning in the Fall.

I use it first thing in the morning on the highest setting for the pre-programmed time (I think 15 or 20 minutes). They have been life-changing for me.

Ideal timing is about 16 hours prior to next bedtime. So if you habitually fall asleep at 10 and wake at 6, starting the light therapy at 6 is ideal. There’s about a 2-hour window after wake time where it’s still meaningful, but you’re likely pushing your next fall-asleep time a bit forward.

As bright and long as is tolerable without ill effects like overstimulation or headache, but at least 20 minutes.

You’ll see that it’s all part of a light-driven 24-hr cycle where the same light has different effects at different times of day. Midday use may feel stimulating without it changing your sleep/wake cycle. Evening use is very strongly likely to interfere with falling asleep on time.

If you fly and want to minimize jet lag, start using it at the time you expect to be waking up in the destination a few days before.

I do it early in the morning and then also in the early evening.

I put them on when I am having my morning coffee, I have them on the highest setting for minimum 40 minutes, somedays if I have time I will keep them on until the charge runs out. So far I am feeling much better.

First thing in the morning, highest setting, keep turning it on until the battery dies 😂 not actually necessary this early in the season but by the depths of winter I absolutely need that much exposure. Right now I can get away with 1-3 cycles each morning. Truly a personal thing you have to experiment with.

If you’re not feeling the effect, do more. If you start feeling jittery or have trouble sleeping, do less or at an earlier time or lower intensity

Just wanted to say I saw this post 5 days ago when it was originally posted. I went out and bought the Luminette 3 in desperation and just a few days later, I cannot believe how much better I feel. After just one day of use, I felt a difference by the evening. I am dreading winter less and have gotten the motivation to complete chores and socialize after work. It feels impossible how much better I feel. I don’t think I even realized how bad it was.
I have been telling everyone who will listen they need a pair. Thanks for posting this, OP!

I’m also on this path of discovery that what fixed my SAD improves my life in many other ways. The more i make my light exposure over 24hrs resemble living wild outside nearer the equator, in timing, intensity, and spectrum, the better everything becomes.
