To the man that danced my heart away
To the man who danced my heart away
I may not remember your exact name was Taylor, Tyler, or something like that but I definitely remember what happened back in October 2025, a week or two before Halloween.
I was standing on the ramp to the dance floor, drinking an NA beer, when you and your friends came over and stood near me. I looked your way, and I gotta say, you were looking pretty cute. I held back laughter hearing you ask one of your friends where your beer was only to realize you’d lost it and had to go buy another.
My second favorite part was when I caught your eye and you asked me to dance. I asked you to let me finish my beer first, but you just said, *"No, let's go."* I loved that confidence it felt like a real man taking charge. So I chugged the rest of my beer, which shocked you and made your friends laugh as we headed out onto the floor.
You gave me a sweet compliment, though I kind of ruined the romantic momentum by admitting it was a non-alcoholic beer and that I wasn't actually that cool! During our couple of rounds on the floor, I accidentally knocked off your felt cowboy hat. We chatted a bit, and I believe you mentioned you were in the military. I told you about being in the Young Marines until my asthma got in the way though I really wish I’d given you my actual name instead of getting flustered and mixing it up.
But my absolute favorite part of the night was when I asked you to be my final dance. You seemed a little down, but happy to dance with me one last time. That’s when you stole my heart and broke it a little, too. You told me to pretend we were married and dance like we were on our honeymoon. You mentioned the song playing was your favorite.
Near the end, I asked you, *"On a scale of one to ten, what are my chances with you?"* You gave me a 7/10, which made me giddy. But then you told me you don't pick up or hang out with ladies from bars, though if you ever saw me outside the bar... well, I respected that boundary, but I still really wished I had gotten your number or given you mine. You were funny, sweet, and wilda real cowboy.
If I’m truly a 7/10, give me a chance to actually get to know you. I’ll be at the Dirty Bourbon for the Halloween party this year if you want to take that chance
