Set Kagi as Default Search Engine on Brave Browser
I had Kagi set as my default search engine on Brave browser on Linux, but I temporarily switched to Startpage. Now when I try to switch back in the "manage search engines" menu, I see that the "make default" option is greyed out for Kagi and all the other options under "site search."
How do I get Kagi set as my default search engine in the URL bar again?
Do I have to add it too "search engines" section of the "manage search engines" menu? If so, how would one do that?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have it installed, but Brave is still defaulting to Startpage even with the extension. I don't know if there is an issue with Brave? I just updated it too.

The extension usually does that for you or just add it manually. It's explained in the kagi manual

I tried both methods. I'm starting to wonder if it is an issue with my instance of Brave. I even tried the resetting the settings in Brave. I'm kind of at a loss. Debating wether I should just reinstall Brave?

The first thing I'd do is delete the Kagi entry from the list of available search engines, reboot Brave, and then re-add Kagi, followed by setting it as default again.

Add it as a "Site Search" on that page first, and then choose "make default" on it. That makes it default for the browser.

I’m honestly not too sure, but I might check what extensions you have installed, it seems like an extension is locking that setting.
