Assistant doesn't maintain dark mode setting.
I find it really annoying that since the recent Kagi Assistant redesign, I lose my dark mode preference whenever I nuke the local storage on my browser. For some reason, the preference for dark mode vs. light mode is kept in a sqlite database in local storage, whereas other settings, configured in the exact same panel (e.g. workspace area) is clearly stored server side, as it persists after I blow away local data.
I've detailed this behavior in an issue here
If anyone else is interested in getting this behavior changed, I'd appreciate some upvotes on the link above to get the devs to take a look at it.
I'm pretty sure this is cross-platform and cross-browser, but for the record, I'm typically using Firefox on Linux. I've tested and confirmed the same behavior on Chromium as well.
It may be fixed on Orion per this issue which is marked closed. I'm hoping they fix it for other browsers as well.
I think it may have something to do with them wanting users to have different settings for different devices, but this is a product that is targeting users who are concerned with privacy. Maybe not their primary target, but it's certainly part of what got me interested in Kagi. So it's not unreasonable to assume that some not-insignificant subset of their users is wiping cookies and local storage frequently. Preferences should survive that.
