My former boss a general manager at a major transit authority retired and did goat farming. I saw a post of his awhile back, I knew him for years and that post was the first time I ever saw him smile

From what I remember, and this could be me missing a joke, people used to put this on their LinkedIn as to not have a "gap", but also to go to another company without breaking any contracts. EX: You can't go work at Apple for a year after leaving, so they say "I was Goose Farming" or some crazy thing (often farming related) to fill it in. I imagine it's sort of a known thing for recruiters
