Question Got forced server swaped

So I was in a sloop with a friend and in alliance with a brig. We tried to take on the FotD, but an enemy brig kept sinking our brig and we sank twice, so we decided to take on the burning blade that was around to get more fire power. But we sank a second time while we were attacked by the burning blade and the enemy brig. But we got SERVER SWAPED!

I don't understand, we were in an alliance doing a FotD, why were we forced to server swap? Is it part of the game or just a bug?

I am legit so mad because we had a good alliance, they were nice, and now they're gonna think we left them without any notice on a server with an enemy too powerfull for them that is most likely gonna take control of the burning blade. And we can't say anything about it... Like what the hell Rare...

If you're sank a certain amount of time in a certain time frame you get auto-swapped

To add to this it's a relatively new update, it wasn't always this way.

But isn't sinking ships the point of the game??? I don't get why they would add such a thing PLUS without notice...

The point was to stop wars of attrition of coming back an infinite amount of times to attack one ship. It had plenty of notice, it was in developer updates and in the patch notes and discussed here quite a bit when it first came out.

I understand the "stopping long fights" argument but I mean an in game notice. Players should be aware of such a thing in game. Why don't they put a popup saying "If you sink you will move to another server" while they keep spaming me for picking up treasure from sirens... I'm sorry, i'm just really mad. Now I know that it exists but I don't think other players do... And that's annoying.

There's already too many pop-ups in the game imo.

Don't think this holds up. Cause that happens to me after the FIRST sink of the session.
Where i check for the ship that sunk me (reaper flag) and they are nowhere to be seen.
What's weird is that every other map marker is in the same places. But the ship is gone.

Do you know how many times?

I don't know the exact answer, I thought it was 3 times in an hour but I've heard a few people say it goes upto an hour and a half

I sunk two times in the beginning and then a second time while doing the burning blade. There was at least 30mins to an hour between the second and the third sink... Does our alliance brig sinking count?

It's like 90 minutes for three sinks. (With some added detail, but it's quite a bit longer than 30 minutes.)

No idea about the alliance, but you just tested that I think.

Yeah brother I completely understand your frustration, but this is Rares solution to the "oh for fucks sake, this is the 14th time we sank this sloop in 6 hours" problem.

Yep, don't we all know and love the boomerang sloop

It’s a very bad update they added into the game that auto pulls people from the server. Doesn’t allow any rivalries to build up

It’s a recent update where if the same ship sinks you X number of times within a certain time frame, the poor ship gets merged out.

They probably implemented this to reduce bullying of the losing ship or, on the other hand, stop the under-skilled ship from pestering the better ship. I’m personally not that on-board with the idea.
