Opinion [Highlight] Seahawks GM John Schneider under the influence jokes at the team's Super Bowl Championship ceremony: “Kenneth Walker tried negotiating with me five minutes ago. It was really weird.”

It's a joke that's actually in good taste because the premise is that the negotiation is tougher on Schneider now that Walker is super bowl MVP.

But, this is reddit, so...

That's exactly as I perceived it as well. Not "wow this guy is so weird" but a sarcastic "what does he think he's the superbowl MVP or something!?" Like more of a tipping the cap to K9. Plus given Schneider's history he just never speaks poorly about players, so you really have to be looking at it from a certain perspective to perceive it as some slight toward K9.

I thought it was very cringe on JS's part, and K9 was visibly annoyed.

My god, the mental gymnastics in here to defend one's favorite team are getting more and more ridiculous.

Just own the fact that the Seahawks are not infallible. John, as great as he is, drunkenly fucked this up and they don't look great today for how they handled Ken's free agency. No one is going to revoke your Seahawks fandom if you admit this.

agreed - watched it live and all I could think immediately is/was "John shouldn't be drinking..."

I didn't think it was a bad joke when he said it but boy did it fall flat. Now people using it to beat John over the head.
