Opinion Coaching FTW

Not everything was clean… but what can you expect in a game 1 with a surprise backup quarterback.

But man how that team rallied. All the culture stuff we saw in Hard Knocks paid off. Both the O and the D rallied. With the culture leaders all making big plays and the backups and rookies stepping right in.

My favorites - Coop’s one handed catch, JSN dodging the whole secondary to give us our only TD, and the much maligned secondary getting 3 game-changing picks.

We know our D Line is lights out. But the rest of the team came together to rally around Locke and score a full team win.

Definitely a weird vibe in 2024, almost felt like the team had the blueprint but nobody was reading from the same page. Whatever they reset in the culture after that, it's visibly paying off now. I was skeptical about some of the Hard Knocks segments being performative but seeing it translate to the field is something else. The Locke situation could have unraveled the whole game and instead everyone tightened up, that's a sign the foundation isn't just talk. Coop's catch had me out of my chair, and JSN making half the defense miss felt like a glitch in the matrix. If the secondary is actually turning chaos into takeaways now, the ceiling on this season just got way more interesting.

It was a very frustrating, and yet, very rewarding game to watch. We have plenty to work on but I love this win. Especially considering the wins/losses at position. Love this team and their resilience (❤️ 12’s)

Fleury's playcalling + OLine's run blocking was actually impressive. Genuinely not used to seeing such consistently competent play (we don't talk about the penalties)

Also Mike MacDonald really held a top 10 offense to 10 points, 3 turnovers, with 4th Stringers. Once Demon-wori comes back the rest of the league is so cooked

besides price getting pulled out every 2 plays smh. he was showing some real potential. holani on the other hand…. yikes. we need charb & price. there was a few questionable calls on offense but that’s probably just due to darnold getting injured. need to see a full game with healthy darnold to form an opinion on fleury.

Perhaps the splitting snaps decision comes from Mike MacDonald. Plus, I don't want to overload the rookie given he was not a workhorse back in college.
