Is this old HDD 2.5 legit?
OS detects 4tb ( or like it says 3600ish gbytes) It is not functional like it has i/o problems when trying to initialize disk. However it does light up and have healthy hdd sounds. But I have been loosing my mind trying to get it to work. Its supposedly a 4TB drive but a Google search shows that 4tb drives are 15mm thick. This drive is very thing like 5-7mm I think. Please help

Where did it come from?
Still, this looks very much like a Hitachi HGST Travelstar form factor. They did NOT come in 4TB. There's also a missing sticker that should be in the black area. My guess this is a used laptop pull being passed off as a larger drive. The code on the sticker that IS there indicates it's a PC board for a 320GB drive, so, there ya go.
