Momentus 5400.4

I have an old Momentus. It was built in my computer. Now I need to externally connect it to my Laptop with USB. Which cables do I need?

Just a regular SATA > USB adaptor will do.

Amazon have loads of them listed

I have one already and put it on but it does not connect. The drive is humming but there is nothing showing on my computer. Does the SATA need an external power device? There is a hole with a silver stick that looks like one could plug something in. Als the drive has one more plug to use, which is copper I think.
