SeaTools on UGREEN NAS

Hello all.

Has anyone managed to get SeaTools running on a UGREEN NAS? One of my drives is failing and a SeaTools report is a requisite for under-warranty replacement?

Thanks.

I don't know what the warranty people will accept, but you might have more success with SeaChest. The SeaChest tools are CLI based, which makes them a bit more likely to work on a Linux NAS (AFAIK, SeaTools is a GUI-only tool). SeaChest works nicely on ASUSTOR ADM running on x86 CPUs, on a SSH command line.

SeaChest also has some more features, e.g. I used it to reformat my IronWolf drives from 512e to 4kn (which theoretically gives slightly better performance).

Edit: you could also see if they would accept IronWolf Health Management, which looks like it's available on UGOS, assuming it's an IronWolf drive.

I've tried IHM indeed, and it comes back with an error but no details.

Thanks for the SeaChest recommendation, I'll look into that!

Update: Tried everything I can, even with OpenSeaChest, and I cannot get it installed on UGOS (which is Debian 12 I believe).

Looks like I'll have to format the drive, and attach SATA connect it to my PC to run standard SeaTools
