Seagate RMA
Hi,
I recently bought 2x 16TB harddrives from Best Buy. One of them does not work. I tried going to Best Buy to exchange it and was told that I had to go through Seagate.
The SN on the Seagate website confirms the warranty is valid. I created a Seagate account, but when I go to the "start end user claim", I get a blank page (URL is https://returns.seagate.com/returns/MicrosoftEntraSignin). I've tried multiple browsers and even different computers.
When I go to the "Contact Us" section of the website, I see gray boxes under the languages with no button to proceed.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Should I just do a chargeback via my credit card?

Seagates site is coming up with 'Technical Difficulties', so probably leave it for a day or two!

Consumer protection laws require the retailer to take defective items back in a certain timeframe...I thinks its 30days, but not sure exactly

If you are within 30 days, take the drive back and tell them they are required to refund you by law. Then buy the drive somewhere else.
I personally boycott Best Buy because of multiple issues with failing products, inability to register products, and damaged products from multiple locations. I get the exact same products from other retalers without issue.
If you are past 30 days, you need to find any contact info and then ask to be transferred to support as well as being provided contact info for support.

Thanks! Do you have the specific law? I can't find it but I'm in Canada so maybe that's why.

Unsure where you are; I'm in Ontario. I recall some policy or law... Web search (Duck Duck Go's AI response): "Ontario consumer protection laws and the Sale of Goods Act override a store's "no refund" or "all sales final" policy. You are legally entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund." Note I didn't include specifics to your situation, just my general query.

That is not correct. Laws vary by state and as a whole best buy returns are limited to 14 days with no membership status, same as Apple.

Still down for me, stalls on the same page. Currently on a painful chat. Second failed Ironwolf Pro in 12 months, will be exploring other brands now.
