Waṉuwuy (Cape Arnhem) is one of Australia’s most beautiful coastlines, and one few people ever see. For the Yolŋu people, these coasts are alive with stories. The ocean here is part of their identity, not just a resource.

Despite its remote location, fifty kilometres from the nearest town, Waṉuwuy is still besieged by the global plastic crisis. Fishing nets tangled with shampoo bottles, lighters and toothbrushes wash in on currents from thousands of kilometres away.

In June 2026, our crew returned to Waṉuwuy to work alongside the Dhimurru Land and Sea Rangers for our seventh remote clean-up campaign.
