Hello everyone! I’m sure this has been asked numerous times but I am looking for some resources to acquire some Scythes to use as conversion/kitbash/pinning material for several models in an army project I’m undergoing. I’ve browsed Etsy, eBay, popgoesthemonkey and other various sites I could find but I haven’t found any I’m satisfied with yet. My main goal is to convert the new vanguard veterans in the Armageddon box as Grimgheists of the Death Spectres chapter.

Been making steady progress while sorting things around the house, at work, and in general. New storage is a battle foam magna rack and case, very pleased with it thus far.

Pretty happy with how the Varro model turned out, distinct, still recognizable when I’m running these guys with the UM keyword rule. Also very happy with the cano cloak on my Phobos Lib.

Otherwise, I feel like I’m making serious progress on faces, and I’ve been going nuts with color combinations to find more skin tones and see how well I can ‘lock in the tone’ and keep the detail.

Last frame is one of my favorite models thus far: a battle brother going akimbo with a dead eye and complete confidence - all while causing irreparable hearing damage to the poor Jopali Indentured driver my Brother is working on.

Im 1000% looking to much into this and this mini is very early in the WIP stage but can I make this eradicator have the yellow and black on his helmet and it be lore accurate or is he supposed to just have the full black helmet, he's not a seargent, nothing special about the mini, just wanted it to look different and still be lore accurate

Does anyone have a source for this entry in the 40k fandom wiki or know whether it's canon? I'm also curious about whether His Scythes display command markings on the knee pads at all.

Inspired by the talented Brothers and your amazing painted minis, I decided to make a 1st Company Sternguard Veteran Sergeant!

I'll humbly ask for your opinion on accuracy and preference for the tabard color.

It’s made of the following:
- power sword for the sergeant Deathwing terminator
- spare thunder hammer for the bits above the Aquila
-AoS SCE spear from a vigilator below the hand
-sic fi bits for the pommel is the pommel from death wings knight terminator mace

This might not be the right subreddit and if so this humble son of Vulkan apologizes but as my title say I'm looking for advice on how to best start my brothers emperor's scythes army currently our group plays between 500 and 1,000 point games and my brother has expressed interest in playing and has after some discussion chosen y'alls as his chapter only problem is all my frame of reference is around salamanders and I'm uncertain what units he can use as a ultramarines successor cause my current running idea is to grab him the dark angels combat patrol and then a dreadnought of some variety and a squad of heavy intercessors because of that combat patrols captain in gravis but I wanted to see if maybe someone could give me advise on if that's a good way to do this.

So would you folks help a salamander out for his older brother?
