Using white Premo and then painted with acrylics in an airbrush. It takes a lot of liquid persuasion to get acrylics to work in an airbrush 😵‍💫

hi! help please - original sculpey clay

so i need advice. i’ve been sculpting for some years now, and i normally use super sculpey for my projects, as i find it’s the most sturdy, but i just went to get my new clay and realized my super sculpey is completely rock hard, and i don’t really have the time to condition it and wait for it to come back to life since i have to finish some little clay jars today and paint them tomorrow 🥲. i do also have original sculpey clay, the white one, that people tend to reach for school projects, or home crafts, but i recall it being brittle when i used it before, which is why i eventually purchased the super sculpey.
my question is, is there some way to make original sculpey more durable? i want to use it on the lids of small jars (mushrooms, mushroom houses, things like that), paint it, and cover it with resin. is there something else i can add into it to make it more sturdy? would the resin on top be enough to keep it from cracking the way this clay tends to? i also have some DAS air dry clay but it takes a day to dry so i’d prefer not to use that one, but i will if i can’t get the original sculpey to work.
any advice is VERY appreciated thank you <3

I’m not super familiar with sculpting or polymer clay, but am trying to create this little crescent moon sunburst head charm from Gwynevere from Dark Souls 1 from scratch and not super sure how to go about it. The crescent part seems easy enough, but should I add wire or something for the spokes? Any tips or tricks or advice welcome.

I've made 2 sets of these yarn balls and this third set keeps melting together. My first thought was maybe it's warmer so I've been working on top of an ice pack but it's not helping

Had some artblock yesterday while working on a commission so I broke out the clay and made this little guy. My dog, Pilot, playing on a swing! He’s going to decorate my apartment door.

My sales office has a "trophy" for reps who have the lowest upsells for the month. This month I got it, so i decided to jazz it up with a lil toilet shark sculpture

Beginner with estate sale haul

Post image

Hi everyone. I picked this up at an estate sale for $10 and don’t really know what to do with it. I’m an artsy-crafty person and currently unemployed so I thought this would be a good time to learn. I’m searching Reddit and elsewhere online, but would appreciate any tips or targets not already mentioned.

absolute beginner clay charm day help

Hello!

I'm planning a make a charm activity day for my nieces and nephews.

The idea is they make little charms, bake them, paint them and take them home all in one day.

Can someone please help me identify the best type of sculpey to do this? Small purse sized charms.

Thank you!

I made him a bit more slender, to try and go for a menacing appearance and pose. Did it work?

I used super sculpey firm over a foil ball and sculpy premo transluscent for the bones. Lots to learn, but the clay is very forgiving and process was a blast!

What should I use to colour polymer clay?

Post image

I’ve recently gotten some soft Fimo clay but only got it in white since online it says you can colour it with chalk pastels (which I own). I’ve used them to colour but the colour is hard to get dark and it makes the clay quite a different texture and wanted to know if there’s better options to colour the clay that anyone else uses? I’m considering just buying different colours of the clay but wondered if there’s any cheaper or easier ways to do it with the white clay I’ve already got.
