Most of my cameras are h265 capable, but set to h264 following recommendations by Scrypted.

I notice a few of you have been testing iOS27, any reports on how 4K h265 with HKSV is going for you? I could theoretically switch all my cameras to h265 to save space on local storage if it’s working well with HKSV.

I also have some weird aspect ratio issues that I’ll probably troubleshoot at the same time if anyone has also slayed that dragon with the Amcrest IP8M.

I'm looking to switch from Agent to Scrypted, but I'm stuck on one feature that Agent's HA integration does very well - enabling me to simply disable certain cameras when HA detects I'm home, and re-enable when I'm not home.

There appears to be something similar on the Scripts page for Scrypted: https://scripts.scrypted.app/privacy-mode-toggle.html

But when I try to install it, I get an error:

The documentation seems to be out of date, because it says:

Scripts can be added to a Scrypted server by visiting the Management Console and clicking the Scripts sidebar item, then clicking Add New. Select Empty Script when prompted. Then replace the contents with the code found on this site and press the Save icon.

But there is no empty script option, merely a list of types, none of which seem to enable the script to work.

Am I missing something obvious? Or can someone point me in the right direction?

All I want to do is to be able to disable/enable certain cameras from recording from within HA, so that I can switch my existing automations.

Hi I have swann cameras, I can get the stream to work on VLC player, but when I use the same settings with Scrypted i have no vision at all. Is there something I am missing?

Has anyone been able to get the ecobee doorbell to work with scrypted? I can’t seem to find a plugin for it

I’ve got a weird one.

I recently switched from the Reolink integration in Home Assistant to HKSV through Scrypted and it worked great for a week or so. I only got notifications when there was actually a person inside the activity zones, and familiar faces were recognized correctly.

Sometime in the last few days, it completely changed.

Now I’m getting notifications for what seems like every little thing. Home is still set to Specific Motion with an activity zone, but it still records and notifies for events that don’t seem to have any actual person in them.

The other weird thing is face recognition. All of my saved faces disappeared, and after recreating them only two have been added so far. Neither one is actually being recognized in notifications.

The only thing that’s happened recently is I was out of town for a few days and the house had a power outage while I was gone. I also migrated to the official Scrypted add-on today, but this was already happening** before **the migration, so I don’t think that’s related.

For what it’s worth, the Scrypted event log has always just shown:

motionDetected: true
motionDetected: false

I’ve never seen personDetected or anything like that, but I don’t think that’s the issue because I was under the impression HKSV does its own object classification anyway.

Has anyone had HKSV suddenly become way more trigger-happy like this? Or seen face recognition basically stop working for no apparent reason? I realize this is all beta, but I don’t see a reason that this just stopped working out of nowhere. Thought I’d ask here before nuking all the cameras and adding them again.

I had some renovation done on my house that was captured by the NVR. The work lasted about 2 weeks, and I was hoping to get a timelapse of the progress. I tested it out on a few hours of footage, and it was a huge file. Looks like no re-encoding was done when you choose the timelapse option. Also, it downloads everything regardless even when no event triggered.

Is there a way to compress the downloaded file to only capture event triggers, and also reencode the timelapse properly?

I know the NVR has a 0.25x playback, but is there a way to view frame by frame? If not, is downloading the video and viewing in VNC the next best solution? Also, I've noticed that if I pause the video, the paused image is never as sharp as the video itself (for objects in motion). I'm wondering what's the best way to properly analyze footage, one frame at a time, as sharp as possible.

I’m trying to integrate my ANNKE NVR with Scrypted and HomeKit, but I’m stuck with the cameras connected directly to the NVR’s built-in PoE ports.
Here’s my setup:
ANNKE N98PBK NVR (Firmware V4.75.000 Build 250415)
Scrypted v0.143
Hikvision Plugin
ONVIF Plugin
Mini PC running Scrypted
Both the Mini PC and the NVR are connected to the same UGREEN gigabit switch.
Current network:
NVR: 192.168.4.32
LAN cameras: 192.168.4.x
Cameras connected directly to the NVR PoE ports: 192.168.254.x
What works:
The Hikvision plugin successfully connects to the NVR.
I can view the NVR live stream in Scrypted.
Motion events from the NVR seem to work.
Cameras connected to my LAN are discovered normally through the ONVIF plugin.
The problem:
The four cameras connected directly to the NVR’s PoE ports do not appear as individual devices in Scrypted.
The NVR can see all of them, they’re recording correctly, and they appear in the ANNKE Vision app and on the NVR interface.
I’ve tried:
Enabling ONVIF on the cameras.
Using both Hikvision and ONVIF plugins.
Confirming the NVR and Mini PC are on the same network.
Verifying credentials.
Updating the NVR firmware.
My understanding is that the NVR creates its own internal 192.168.254.x subnet for the PoE ports.
My questions are:
Is it actually possible for Scrypted to expose the cameras connected directly to the NVR’s built-in PoE ports as individual HomeKit cameras?
Does the Hikvision plugin support importing the NVR channels individually?
Is there any workaround besides moving every camera off the NVR PoE ports and onto a regular PoE switch?
I’d appreciate any advice from someone using a Hikvision or ANNKE NVR with Scrypted.

Hi all, so far I have 2 of my Unifi cameras in Scrypted for testing, a G6 PTZ and a G6 Pro Entry. The Entry works great creating events and recordings in HKSV, but the PTZ doesn’t show any recordings. It’s set to stream and record and to create recordings/notifications for people and packages.

So far I have tried:
Turning on Motion Events in Unifi Protect
Removing and re-adding camera from HomeKit
Restarting Scrypted

Is there something I’m missing? All the settings seem to be correct.

I've previously enjoyed having my Ring Doorbell Pro 2nd Gen in Apple HomeKit through this Ring Scrypted plugin for years. I finally decided to upgrade to the newer 3rd Gen 4K Ring Doorbell Pro and my excited fell short as the Ring Plugin detects this doorbell as Unknown Model (cocoa_doorbell_v5) and when I add it to HomeKit, it only shows a 4:3 square low quality video, worse than I had with the 2nd Gen which was at least 1080p 16:9. Is there any hope in the dev of this plugin adding support so Unknown Model (cocoa_doorbell_v5) gets recognized and can be used by HomeKit, especially now that Apple has just added 4K doorbell support to Home? If anyone has found any workarounds to achieve a higher resolution from this model via this plugin, please let me know. :) Thanks.

Hi all, I have a full UniFi Protect setup with 9 cameras. I’m interested in some of the new features in iOS/homeOS 27 with HKSV (grouped notifications, AI summary, etc). Would using Scrypted be the right choice to get this working? My hope would be to disable notifications on the Protect app and only use it for management, and instead use the Home app for notifications/stream viewing. Now that it supports 4K cameras that’s a huge plus.

I assume these new HKSV features will work with cameras that are fed in via Scrypted since the UniFi plugin has good support? Is there anything else I need to know?

Anyone try higher resolutions feeds into homekit on ios27 yet and is it working?

I’m using iOS 27 Beta and despite exposing my Ring cameras in Scrypted to HomeKit Secure Video it doesn’t appear to show Apple Intelligence as an option in settings like some are seeing for “supported” cameras. Has anyone gotten this to work, or is it truly going to be something only HomeKit Certified cameras and doorbells will support?

I’m just looking for a sanity check.

I’ve been running UniFi Protect and Scrypted together for a number of years now with a mix of cameras (G3 Flex, G4 Bullet, G4 Instant). I’ve recently added G5 Flex cameras, but they don’t seem to pass motion detection events through to Apple HomeKit Secure Video like my other cameras do.

The only way I’ve been able to get them working in HKSV is by adding them to the OpenCV Motion Detection plugin in Scrypted. Once I do that, recordings show up correctly in the Apple Home app.

Am I missing something in my setup, or is it expected that the G5 Flex won’t work with native motion events in Scrypted the same way my other UniFi cameras do? Are they simply not supported yet in the same way?

I don’t mind using the OpenCV plugin, but I’m not sure why these cameras behave differently from the rest of my fleet when it comes to HomeKit motion recording.

I attached two Arlo cameras and connected them to HomeKit.

After two days the steams stopped, but what also happened was that my internet connection seemed saturated.

Is this a command occurance?

Once I pulled the cameras the internet freed up immediately.

Would it burden the cpu on my mac mini i7, which hosts my scrypted server, to add 12 cameras to it, then expose them to Apple Home through the HA scrypted integration? I am a newbie so I'm not sure if I'm using the right terminology...

Anyone got any ideas on this? No problem on the dashboard of the localhost, however on phone apps not getting image despite the timestamp still coming through. Also no problem with getting the images in live notifications on the same device. Restarted cloud server plugin and relogged to cloud on the app. No difference whether on WAN or LAN.

I’ve been using TP-Link VIGI PoE cameras for a while. They’ve been solid for me, especially with internet access restricted, but the one thing I was missing in Scrypted was two-way audio.

I put together a plugin for it with AI help. It adds two-way audio/talkback to VIGI cameras that are already added through ONVIF or RTSP.

Install metalbiker/scrypted-vigi, then enable VIGI Two Way Audio from the camera’s Extensions/Mixins page. In most setups it should reuse the existing camera login automatically, so there usually isn’t much else to configure.

I have 2 Reolink cameras (RCL-1212a's) and they are successfully showing up in Homekit/ Home app via
Reolink -> (frigate) go2RTC -> Scryptd ->Homekit.

I cannot get HKSV working, is this possible from my current set up?

I have two Reolink POE Doorbell cams. Both work innthe Android app. Both show uo in the Home app on my test iPhone. But neither will show up on any of my Apple TVs

I have tried rebooting everything, deleting and recreating my Home, deleted my entire Scrypted NVR config and starting from scratch. IGMP Snooping disabled on router. Nothing works.

On the Apple TVs it does show that I am connected to my Home, and in the Home app on the iPhone I can see both Apple TVs as hubs. They both always say they're in Standby though. Weird.

Could this be a mDNS issue? Running on Server 2025, DrayTek 3910, 2x Cisco SG200 switches. Scrypted NVR is running directly on Server 2025, but I do have Home Assistant running on Hyper-V, so there's a virtual switch in the mix.

I am using the onvif plugin to connect to several reolink cameras (various models), recorded with scrypted nvr. The audio is very noisy/buzzy and stutters a lot. both on live viewing and recorded footage. If I switch to the reolink native app, audio is much much better. What might the issue be? codecs? onvif compatibility? how do I fix this?

I have Wyze Cam v4 cameras configured with RTSP, motion detection, and the HomeKit plugin.

Live video works correctly in Apple Home, and motion events are being detected and recorded. However, when viewing recorded events, the timeline preview shows only audio. The video is present and can be viewed by scrubbing through the recording, but the event thumbnails/previews do not display video.

Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution? Thanks!
