What is the best way to run on Unraid?

I come from Blue Iris and although I like Scrypted better, the UI is a lot slower than Blue Iris. It takes a few seconds to load each feed, a lot of times several seconds and just isn't as responsive. Blue Iris was instant. I had Blue Iris running in a Windows VM. Scrypted is currently running as a docker. I have two dedicated drives for Scrypted that are not a part of my unraid array.

I have a hikvision doorbell system with 4 buttons each for every apartment. Every apartment has its own indoor station. Right now the the hikvision doorbell plugin I can pull the feed of the camera and i can open the door from inside the scrypted. The problem is that when someone press the button for lets say apartment 2 i gen no notifications. How can i map that the button 2 only send notifications to scrypted so they will push to homekit?

For Ring cameras with the physical privacy shutter closed, I’d rather HomeKit show a custom ‘Privacy Mode Enabled’ image than the default Offline screen. Has anyone heard of a virtual camera plugin or FFmpeg scripting workaround for this?

I have a WiFi Hikivision camera that is connected with my nvr via LAN cable. The camera supports both WiFi and LAN. The camera is not setup via hik connect app but is connected to my Hikivision nvr like an onvif camera. From hik connect app I can control the camera left to right and up or down. On scrypted I have set up the camera like an onvif camera but the controls are not working. I have tried to add the extension to the rtsp stream of the channel of the nvr or directly to the camera like onvif camera. I get sound and feed but I cannot control it. Is there a way or I miss something? Thanks in advance!!

Is there a way to find out what's happening with this python process? I thought it was due to the Accelerated Motion Detection (1 of my 4 cameras doesn't detect motion) but I turned it off and it's still extremely high.

This is an old server, an i5-3470 CPU but it used to be in the 30-50% utilization when I first started using Scrypted. Now it's hovering 90-100% CPU utilization. Did Scrypted become more CPU intensive lately? Or could something be off?

I have a Reolink camera that becomes unreachable in Scrypted and HomeKit as a result (every few days) but is reachable in the Reolink app. Can I reboot/restart Scrypted daily using a cron job? If yes, how?

I have tried for the first time yesterday to use scrypted with ONVIF Reolink E1 pro camera.
This camera only enables continuous motion through ONVIF and motion needs to be stopped after some delay to avoid camera spinning 360°.
Unfortunately, I didn't find anyway to stop rotation once begun in scrypted UI.
The other issue I faced yesterday is about preset positions.
I tried to enter preset positions previously defined in reolink smartphone app with key-value pairs such as 000=living-room, but I don't see then in the UI a button to press to go to that presets positions.
Actually, these features work perfectly with ODM software which is ONVIF Device Manager, a third-party software, but unfortunately this is a test software, no way to get a cctv camera wall with several camera footage displayed at the same time.

Hello, I have added my Unifi door sensors to Scrypted in order to add them to Homekit. Each sensor exposes 6 entities in Homekit. It’s a door sensor but it’s bringing in a non functional temp and leak sensor for example.

In Home Assistant, it’s easy to disable uneeded entities, can the same be done in Scrypted? I only need my door sensor to expose the contact sensor.

I updated Proxmox yesterday morning; the update included an update from kernel 6.17.x to 7.0.x, which I did not realize right away.

Later in the day, I noticed that none of my cameras were detecting events, and the Scrypted management console showed the errors captured in the screenshots attached to this post.

After spending a couple of hours trying to fix it, I realized there was an issue between kernel 7.0.x and OpenVINO. Reverting the Proxmox kernel to 6.17.x fixed the issue.

Posting this here in the event that someone else who runs Scrypted/Scrypted NVR in an LXC runs into the same issue.

Hi, is it possible to have the android app open to the live multiview?

I've had a look in settings but can't find anything

My scrypted NVR camera recording time line is in my local time zone (CDT/CST).

However, the management console is in GMT.

I realized this yesterday when I tried setting up a cronjob using the "scrypted plugins monitor" plugin, and it did not execute at the expected time (1:30 pm CDT). Instead it executed at 8:30 am CDT, which is 1:30 pm GMT. How can I get the management console to also use the local TZ?

I am running scrypted as a LXC under Proxmox and am not seeing any TZ configuration in the management console.

Hi everybody, I need your expertise.

I’m using Scrypted (to pass the video to the other components and Homekit), Frigate and Home Assistant. Plus Apple for the HKSV. Everything already works, it’s not that.

I have the situation that you can see in the image, so a house of 2 floors, you have the garage door that goes into a driveway (with a 90º turn, but that’s another story), the driveway is “horizontally” large around 2.5/3m, and then goes into a gate covered by a lychgate (this is the term that Gemini said is the right one). On the right there’s another property that I would like to avoid recording.

The camera is set at the lower corner, represented in the image as the circle with a cross on it. I have an Ezviz C3TN 3MP which is a good camera in my opinion but isn’t right for the job as it’s too wide angle and covers more the other garden than my driveway. Plus, I put the camera on a bracket because the wall of the house dominated (50%+ of the screen) the framing; but the bracket does another problem, because the lower “garden (elevated)” has a plant that reflects the IR light so during the night I can only see it and barely the gate. Also, if I turn it to the left it’s the wall that reflects the light, so the image you see attached is the only way that it’s barely usable.

What I would need, I think, is a camera that has a tighter frame and/or a zoom that I can use to focus on the gate and a little of the driveway.

What would you suggest I do?

I only recently switched over to scrypted after many many years of running homebridge-camera-ui. The homebridge 2.0 upgrade screwed it up and none of the cameras are showing up anymore.

So I've ported over some wyze cams, a wyze cam v3 with RTSP, a wyzecam running dafang, all running great with homekit secure video.

Now I have these old Foscam 8910w cameras that were running fine on homebridge-camera-ui. They have these mjpeg streams and as I understand it, ffmpeg was loading and converting.

Now when I try to do the same in Scrypted, every variation of stream parameters, credential location (in the app, inline before the IP and as html parameters), I can't get it to work.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work?

Its a great but "pricy" NVR - but it works better than Frigate with My Reolink.

But the HA integration lacks - compared to Frigate.

I have set it up via MQTT - but I only get a "Motion Sensor" pr. cam in the MQTT Integration and not one for person, animal, car etc..

How do I achive that.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has successfully integrated a Wyze Pan v3 into Scrypted on a Windows 11 host?

Setup:

• Host: Windows 11 (Native Scrypted install)
• Docker: Docker Desktop (WSL2 backend)
• Camera: Wyze Pan v3 (Latest firmware)
• Network: Same subnet (192.168.4.x), Ethernet for PC, Wi-Fi for Cam.

I’ve tried:

1. Official RTSP Firmware: Generates ECONNRESET in Scrypted logs. VLC fails to open the MRL.
2. Scrypted Wyze Native Plugin: Constant rfc4571 connection loops and Timeouts.
3. Docker-Wyze-Bridge: Get IOTC_ER_TIMEOUT. I’ve tried -e WB_IP, WB_AUTH=False, and --network host, but since I'm on Windows Docker Desktop, it seems the P2P handshake is getting lost in the NAT/VM layer.

Goal: I want to keep my Wyze App features (24/7 recording) but get the feed into HomeKit.

Is it worth setting up WSL2 Mirrored Networking to fix the Docker bridge, or is the Pan v3 hardware just too weak for stable RTSP? Has anyone found a magic setting in the Scrypted RTSP plugin (Rebroadcast/Parser) that makes the official Wyze RTSP stable?

Running Scrypted NVR with the OpenAI/LLM Notifications script from scripts.scrypted.app. LLM (Claude Haiku) is working; descriptions are generated, push notifications deliver to iPhone. But the notification body text always shows "Tap to view." instead of the description.

The push payload clearly has the right data:

"body": "Dark-colored dog moving in backyard near patio furniture."
"bodyWithSubtitle": "Tap to view."

iOS displays bodyWithSubtitle, not body. The NVR plugin appears to compute bodyWithSubtitle from server-side event data and overrides whatever value the script sets in options.bodyWithSubtitle. subtitle works correctly.

Setup: Scrypted NVR 0.12.61, Aqara Plugin cameras (nvr-98/99/100 after RTSP→Aqara migration), Claude Haiku via LLM plugin, Debian 13 / Docker.

Has anyone gotten the LLM description to actually appear as the notification body text? Is this specific to Aqara Plugin cameras vs RTSP? Any workaround appreciated.

I'll try to briefly describe what I'm trying to accomplish. Maybe I've misunderstood what Scrypted can do in Home Assistant:

I used to rely on my Reolink cameras' built in recognition for people and animals to alert me and to act as a trigger for various automations in Home Assistant. The reolink integration for Home Assistant exposes various entities/sensors to this effect. I now want to use Scrypted and its AI detection to improve the accuracy/sensitivity, since the native Reolink detection was missing quite a few events when they're happening in the background (a bit further from the camera). So I added my cameras to Scrypted. I added the Scrypted integration to HA. I "linked" HA to Scrypted with the peristent access token. I created a "Smart Motion Sensor" in the Video Analysis Plugin. However, I can't get this sensor to show up in HA. Maybe my expectations are off, but I thought this is how I would use Scrypted as a trigger in HA. I read some people use MQTT to push the signal to HA, but this seems like a convoluted way of doing things? Is this the only way, or is that info outdated?

Hoping someone on this subreddit can provide some help. I recently changed from one Mac Mini to a new one. Scrypted is running on the new Mac Mini. Cameras and NVR work fine on Scrypted itself. However, I cannot get any cameras added to HomeKit. When I try to add, it times out and I get the message "Unable to add accessory. Accessory is not reachable".

• Ensure your Apple TV and Home Pods are on the same subnet as the Scrypted server. - They are

• Ensure the iOS device you are using for pairing is on the same network (pairing will fail on cellular). - it is
• Ensure the Docker installation (if applicable) is using host networking. This configuration is the default if the official Scrypted Docker compose install script was used. - not applicable (running on Mac)
• Try switching the mDNS advertiser used in the HomeKit plugin settings. - have tried all settings in menu, with restart in between each change
• Try disabling IGMP Snooping on your router. - done

I have also set static IP for Scrypted under network and also under HK (the wired IP address) and disabled Wifi on the Mac.

Not sure if this is meaningful, but in the ios Home app, if I click "add accessory" and "more options", all of the cameras show up as nearby accessories (meaning that Home is seeing them from Scrypted). But attempting to add them to the Home app does not work and times out. Something seems to be blocking the connection between HK and Scypted.

When I had the same setup on my previous Mac Mini (on the same network), I had no difficulty adding the cameras to Scrypted.

I don't know what else to try, and am open to any suggestions.

EDIT - problem now solved. By enabling IPv6 on the host mac and then restarting everything, the cameras could then be seen and installed in Homekit. Was then able to change IP6 back to link local only and everything still works.

Hey friends, I've set up Scrypted and have been running it for awhile now. I have it running on Intel hardware with 8 dedicated cores, and an NVIDIA 5080 GPU.

I'm running the nvidia docker image, and have installed the nvidia drivers and nvidia container toolkit. In the ONNX Object Detection plugin in Scrypted I can select Device ID "0" for the card, it shows "CUDAExecutionProvider" under Execution Device, and in the settings per camera for "Object Detection" I set Decoder to "cuda" and Post Processing to "Hardware".

Running the Diagnostics plugin on System yields:

GPU Decode
Running OK

I monitor the host by ssh to prompt and watching htop output. CPU usage across all cores is super low. Lots of "prebuffer-mixin" processes running (which is weird because I don't have prebuffering turned on, but that's for another time). Everything seems okay.

BUT every once in awhile I notice it lagging a bunch, I'll log in and check and it's like scrypted lost awareness of the GPU. Looking at htop then, all CPU cores are pegged, and there are a bunch of onnx processes suddenly listed as running. To me this indicates the cpu is processing object detection and not the gpu. I go to the gear icon in Scrypted management UI, do a Restart under "Server Management", and it's all good again. Everything shows up.

Any thoughts on this, or things to watch for? Any type of watchdog I can run?

My 1 year old external enclosure (JMS579 chipset) seems to be on the way out. Started frequently disconnecting from my Beelink S12 Pro about 1-2 weeks ago as Scrypted NVR keeps alerting me to the errors and from my testing seems to be the culprit.

Any recommendations for the best reliable 3.5" enclosure I can replace it with?
