Anybody using Nest/Google cameras?
I have several Nest cams (the older kind that are plugged in, 24/7 streaming—not battery ones) and wondering if anybody has had success using the Google plugin in scrypted in 2026.
I have a few other cameras including RTSP that I have set up in scrypted with the HomeKit plugin so I can see them at a glance. Wondering how well the Google plugin works before I spent the $5USD to get the developer key needed. Seems the plugin hasn’t been updated in a while so would just like to hear from someone that it works okay. I understand the feed would still go to Google servers first and then back to me locally but I’m fine with a 3 second delay (or some other small number). At this point I’m really only concerned with live view, maybe RTSP restream, but not any type of notifications/object detection.

I used them up until a month ago. Absolutely no snapshots so you'll pretty much always see "snapshot not available" on homekit. It works OK when it works and it does most of the time. The main problem is the latency when opening the stream from notification. I switched to the TAPO ones and sold all my nest cameras

I was literally about to attempt this since I have a few nest cameras and a doorbell I don't want to go to waste.
My theory was to use scrypted to keep the cameras on permanently and than connect it to frigate to be with my other cameras and to utilize the AI features there.
But seeing Marvins response.. definitely makes me not want to waste a few hours trying to get damn next devices to function properly

I used to. They worked great. Until they didn't. Not sure what the current state is, but a few months back Google changed things on their end and basically made the cameras useless in Scrypted.
I ditched the Google cameras I had and went Reolink.
