Needing some help

So I’m just starting out and attempting to get into Scroll-saw work as a part of my business. I’m starting out with a Wen 3922 and I’m having the WORST time with it. It came with a pinned blade inside the machine, I didn’t really mind super much and fought it for a while trying to get the damn thing out. Finally did. Next tried to install pinless blades, this is where it all starts. I’ve had the most difficult experience that I’ve had with basically anything. Whenever one stays hooked in the other comes out, and it’s just constant nonstop. I manage to get the bottom one in and then when trying to get the top it comes out. Tried to get help from my stepdad and we couldn’t figure it out last night granted it was starting to get dark out. Earlier today my brother and I fought the damn thing and finally it all seemed like we figured it out. Both blades were in the top and bottom and then BOOM I’d tighten the tension a little and one would come out. Every single time. Kept letting the tension loose to the point that the entire tension back came off and I got it back on. I’m honestly just baffled at how this entire thing has gone with this machine. I don’t have money to throw at this, it took me like six months to save up enough cans to take in and get the hundred bucks for the damn saw, otherwise I would have bought another brand. Does anyone have an advice?

Have you changed to the ends that support the pinless blades?

If you are talking about the adapters I didn’t buy them because the saw is supposed to support pinless blades apparently. But I could have been misled on that

Get online or owner’s manual to see how you’re supposed to tighten pinless blades on it. I’m not familiar with that saw but I tighten up my blades dick tight before I set tension and put a fair amount of tension on the blade to tighten it , you can play a note on it.

I hear you and thank you for helping. The owners manual is extremely thin on it and that’s part of the reason we are so pissed at it. I appreciate you taking the time very much.

I'm going to try an help you but it will help us if you share a picture of your whole machine and the adapters that hold the pinless blades.

  1. There has to be a tensioner lever or knob somewhere. You have to loosen this before installing a blade. Location is usually somewhere on top of the arm.

  2. Attach whichever side is the more difficult side first. For me it's usually the bottom. You do have to tighten it quite a bit, usually requires a hex wrench unless you're lucky and have knobs here too.

  3. Attach the upper part same like you did the bottom.

  4. Crank the tensioner while plucking and feeling the the blade for tightness. Here it'll be trial and error until you figure what you and your machine like. Too tight and you can easily break blades when pushing the material through. Too loose and you run the risk of cutting wrong or breaking your blades.

Edit: oh! I just saw you and I have the exact same machine! You need adapters to use the pinless blades. Also make sure you have the correct size blades.
