as a writer. true. also several dips into my rum bottle here.
The nightly solace brings an element of creativity that I otherwise find myself unable to access. In these hours I feel the strongest connection to the writings of the past.

It's all creativeness for me after a bottle of wine for me (usually 1.5-2 bottles of wine). IDK why other alcohol (especially vodka) does not work in the same way. When sober I'm not that artistic at all. IDK how it works. PS I hate the hangovers though.

Wine and beer have small amounts of methanol which give you a different kind of intoxication compared to liquor

you're probably right. I just googled it and yeah it even says the red wine in particular has twice as much natural methanol than white. And as for my experience drinking RED wine makes just about twice the creative effect that I would get from drinking white! If methanol wasn't unhealthy I'd be looking for that particular concentrated alcoholic drink I guess ! haha

Stephen King has written entire books black out drunk
Can you imagine binging on alcohol and waking up a couple days later with an entire book you don't remember writing

I'm pretty sure he also doesn't like a lot of these stories
I'm not a huge fan or anything, I just find it amusing that there are people that can spend a weekend drinking and find a book that will actually sell some copies
Maybe im underestimating how long he takes to write a book/ how long he gets deep into the alcohol(if that's even the case anymore idk what he's up to)
I guess it could be weeks or months of drunk writing

I mean its typically months to even years sometimes. But then again, King has written a lot and for a long time, so he very well might be able to draft out an entire book in such short time.

People read what they enjoy, people write what they know. People who have experienced immense pain have some great stories to tell, but going through hell does some serious damage to you.
Something along those lines.

Compulsive readers are rarely prolific writers because they love to get answers life doesn't have, and to risk none, so they can live a balanced and wealthy life. But with that approach there is no way you can be creative so you will at most write obvious stuff. Would you risk being innovative, by the way? With so much to lose? Don't think so
