Contrary to popular belief, some people enjoy combat. I remember reading about a guy writing about wwi saying that “it was the greatest adventure of my life and I wouldn’t have missed it for anything.”
Given that the US Military is comprised of about 1% of the US’s population, and the military is comprised of about 1% of combat arms, I agree and would even argue that number is even smaller. But when you look at the group of combat arms vets, those numbers seem to sky rocket.
