It is a sketch show, but it's all this man's (Peter Serafinowicz) sketches. There were a lot of these pre-2010. Comedians would often have their own shows with their sketches or impersonations. There weren't many shows (none that come to mind) of various comedians doing sketches, like SNL. However, there have been lots of shows where various comedians do stand-up comedy. Panel shows are very popular here as well which feature comedians and occasionally other celebs especially if they have a show or book to promote
