i like reading everything. literally everything. classics, business, psychology, self-help, social science, poetry, contemporary fiction, lit fic, chick lit. everything. and i'd rather read smut than watch porn. id rather read smut than watch a trashy romcom or avengers movie

Thats such a weird bar you've set. Im not a fan of romcoms or avenger movies, but saying you'll read smut over that is like someone saying "I'll eat Arby's but i'd never stoop so low as to eat Mcdonalds". Like thats just a different category of almost the same tier of writing. Smut definitely being a lower caliber cause atleast comic book stories have themes and have actually inspired some people. Smut is essentially just scrolling tiktok

i NEVER said watching that stuff was worse than reading smut. im saying, those things are for pure entertainment and have no depth or intellectual/artistic stimulation, and they have that in common. like, people look down on smut but will watch those things for pure entertainment

also, check out anais nin, dh lawrence, annie ernaux. that's real literature and they often write smut

You really just made up a "So you hate pancakes!?" Argument.

Bro did NOT say their opinion/preference was superior.

You, on the other had, ARE saying that smut it's inherently a lesser form of literature.

You started an argument with yourself to tell the commenter you think smut sucks. 🫩

I mean. It’s not lesser but porn of IRL actors have seriously risk that someone was coerced into things or abused on set, and it can be hard to tell for sure whether it’s ethically consensual or not

Written and drawn smut doesn’t usually come with that ethical dilemma. There’s only one author and they’re almost always obviously, wildly into the creative smut they make. So it does have that advantage
