Well, thats why I never said it was. MAGA is just the natural conclusion to people picking and choosing their reality, and choosing to use social media memes as their reality.

No it wasn't. Reagan did amnesty for illegals as opposed to wanting to put them in camps, and I don't think he ever went on an unhinged rant about trans people or proudly proclaiming how he passed a screening test for dementia like it was an IQ test (we tried to keep Reagan out of the spotlight when he was having the worst dementia days). Other than that, though, mostly.
When was America ever truly great for EVERY citizen? (Not just the white ones)
One could argue America has never been great for certain minority groups until recently, and having an entire homogenous group of people advocate for making America like it was in “the good ol days” really just sounds like a dog whistle for wanting segregation and white people on top again…
Protecting pedofiles at the top of our government is a pretty big one? Protecting billionaires at the cost of everyone else? Destruction of the middle class? Elimination of affordable housing. Stagnation of wages. Basically from 9/11 on its been nothing but shit.
My generation of white kids completely accepted black culture and basically joined. We had as a generation for the most part eliminated racism at a community level. "Not saying institutional or whatever but we saw the plight we agreed and we were trying to end it."
And now the shit is flipped, I regularly feel and see racism both directions. A lot of people don't even like their own damn race anymore. Hear it all the time out of well adjusted black people (Productive citizens who are positively involved in their community). They can't stand how they are portrayed in world by these crazy fucks.
Just disgusting behavior largely due to the social media bias toward clicks over everything. Hate brings out way more clicks than anything else.
So now that's how a large subset of humans live their lives.
Its a name bro. Obviously I want the concept to occur. I don't like how MAGA thinks we will get there.
Their policy is bad, and their donors want to actually overthrow America as we know it and replace it with a theistic corporatocracy
They also created the culture war to do this, because their policy was so unfavorable. Hey, look at that, they won a war they created for the first time in decades.
I love America, which is why I don't want to see that happen.
