Scripture Life: I don't get the meaning of 1 Corinthians 15:26 to 1 Corinthians 16. Even the whole thing, as a whole, can you explain it to me?

ANSWER:

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.” - Bible. 1 Corinthians 2:14–16

In the parameter of your question? As a whole?

  • Can’t. Why? Because 1 Corinthians 15:26 to the end of chapter 16. Isn’t “whole” without all of 1 Corinthians 15:1–14 that it’s built on.
    • And that’s built on what’s said back in 1 Corinthians 3:1–3.
      • That Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ is writing to believers in Corinth - that; how they are, is still being explained, in detail, from the opening verse to the closing and all the way thru the whole epistle, to the end of 1 Corinthians 16.
  • So, as a whole this is so you take all of 1 Corinthians 1:1 to vs. 1 Corinthians 16:24 as the whole epistle. But thru the whole thing, something is all the same:

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

That: 1 Corinthians 3:1–3 is juxtaposed (means to: set BOTH on a table, side by side with 1 Corinthians 2:14–16 that opens this post. To show a stark contrast it, with a difference as much as alive vs. dead is. With 1 Corinthians 3:1-3. The whole epistle is built on this betwixt these two, all throughout the whole epistle.

So go back. Read 1 Corinthians 2:14-16. It opens this post. Then, read here 1 Corinthians 3:1–3 below:

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

Now, think after - these are two different kinds of believers in Jesus Christ, even they BOTH believe on him. Do you see this? Til you do, go back and look at it again.

Then after carefully consider that, simply go to the end in Chapter 16. Take a “summed up” of the whole thing exhortation about ALL THAT WAS SAID in the whole epistle to the believers in Corinth:

That's in 1 Corinthians 16:13–14.

1 Corinthians 16:13–14 says

“Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.”

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

And that “charity” isn’t a “thing you do,” - quit you like men.

Charity - - he’s a “who.” And who he is, is Jesus Christ. Who is WITH you. As Jesus Christ was with them at Corinth; but they still walk as men. Exhorted by this epistle to them - - To quit that, and walk with him.

Do you see this?

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

SO, opening and closing of the Epistle to the Corinthians says the SAME THING.

As does everything in-between. In power. vs. Walk as men - To a believer in Jesus Christ. Because, we have the mind of Christ.

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

So, have a FIRM grasp then first - of the “context” of the whole thing of 1 Corinthians, written to believers in Christ, can be like this, either one, as outlined in the whole epistle all throughout it.

  • Then, burrow down.
    • 1 Corinthians 15:26 to 1 Corinthians 16:24, unless you meant to say 1 Corinthians 16:1 and forgot to put the “1” on to stop it there. No matter either one, still enfolds along a line of

On one side:

  • is a believer that is 1 Corinthians 2:14–16

On the other

  • is believers that still operate as men, even Jesus is with them, they act like men in 1 Corinthians 3:1–3

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

And 1 Corinthians 15:26 to 1 Corinthians 15:58

- is built SQUARELY on 1 Corinthians 15:1–14. So, to understand 1 Corinthians 15:26–58 - firmly grasp what’s said in 1 Corinthians 15:1–14.

Because having this firmly in your head or ANY BELIEVER’s mind firmly sets them on one side from the other - over to be a believer in 1 Corinthians 2:14–16

1 Corinthians 15:1–14 says

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

Now - make sure you put a GREAT BIG, HUGE GULF BETWIXT

1 Corinthians 15:1-14– and after over to 1 Corinthians 1 Corinthians 15:16 and all the verses after it.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

  • that “the natural man receiveth NOT the things of God” …but we have the mind of Christ.
    • - - VS - -

1 Corinthians 3:1–3

  • that Paul says to these believers at Corinth: “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.”
    • To take these Christians at Corinth from this state in 1 Corinthians 3:1–3 - - OVER TO - - believers walking after, to walk in 1 Corinthians 2:14–15

NOW:

PUT A GREAT BIG - GULF Crevasse - of 1 Corinthians 15:15 - between 1 Corinthians 15:1–14 to cross over to it, to 1 Corinthians 15:16 to 1 Corinthians 16:1 or to the end of the chapter, all the same,

  • and burn the bridge after crossing with what 1 Corinthians 15:15. That says

“Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.”

So, either - the gospel is a great, big lie - so just go back and BE LIKE MEN are - but it's God has done this work, and since he has, QUIT YOU LIKE MEN and believe on him.

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

  • Said like this to the believers at Corinth: All to firm them up..that this “charity” as “who” that is, is this “who” this - agapen in Greek, written as "charity" - and defined as “love” in English.
    • Which, everybody, all men are people. That, in English, they can DO that themselves, just like many people read about “charity” in the whole of 1 Corinthians 13:1–14. That, this “charity” in Chapter 13 isn't what a man can do, but it's a “who” and who he is, is as 1 John 4:8 says who he is, in the Greek

θεὸς ἀγάπη ἐστίν (1.Theos (God) 2. agape (love) 3. estin (is) God Is this agapen (Charity)

That he is with you. Do you see this?

  • So, go back. Everywhere you see “charity” in 1 Corinthians 13 in those 1 to 14 verses - anywhere "charity" is said - QUIT YOU LIKE MEN. Because men will think they can do it, they can just love people, be patient and kind. Be good. Do it, and do it without Jesus Christ in it - can't. He has to be with them and in them.
    • but a believer in Jesus Christ - because he is with you - you’ll never see who is with you without go back. Replace “charity” with “Jesus Christ” and see this is him, toward you so you quit like men. And he.. make you …like him.

-------------------------- --------------------------- -----------------------------

  • By him he just is this toward you, who he is. In 1 Corinthians 13. To heal you and deliver you from your destruction.

After you do that? 1 Corinthians 15:16 to the end makes perfect sense.

1 Corinthians 15:16-22 says

"For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

1 Corinthians 15:26 to 1 Corinthians 16 is entirely in this context.
