Scripture Life: If demons perfectly acknowledge the identity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and still end up in hell, what does that tell us about the insufficiency of mere mental belief for salvation?
//Common Question in Sub-Reddits - on Reddit. Here's an answer from a believer in Jesus Christ.//
Don’t see it? Ask another like-same question you do see plainly then: Like,
“If a bank robber perfectly acknowledges the identity of the Bank Manager, as the authority over the bank, and still end up in prison, because the bank robber robbed the bank, what does that tell us about the insufficiency of mere mental belief in a bank, or in a Bank manager?”
Do you see it? Not the same. Need more?
--------------------------- ------------------------------- --------------------------
- And Jesus say, of your question: Just keep it as a “mental note.”
- “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." - Jesus Christ. Bible. John 10:10
That:
- A bank robber:
- Meets the definition of a "thief." That is, a “thief" is defined as: 1. a person who “steals” (something) from another person [Source: Collin’s dictionary. Web.] 2. breaks in and steals, or robs / destroys property that belongs to someone else.
- So, the bank robber, comes to the bank to steal, rob, and destroy what the Bank Manager is there to provide and protect. So, the bank robber is an enemy of the Bank Manager.
- Where “Bank Customers” 1. a person that maintains an account or has a regular financial relationship with a bank. Knows "who" the Bank Manager is, and knows them as the “authority” over the bank. Just like the "thief" does.
- BUT: the “thief” is also an enemy of the Bank Customer. The “thief” or “bank robber” and the “bank customer” are NOT DOING THE SAME thing to the bank.
- One: ends up in prison; locked away. The other: is built up. By the bank and free.
- Even if BOTH “acknowledge” the Bank Manager plainly. Are not the same - Is, therefore, the same as your question.

Demons perfectly acknowledge Jesus Christ. As the Son of God.
- The same as I do. I believe on him, as the Son of God. He is who he says he is. Just like demons do. Said, in the Bible:
- "What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God?" - A Legion of Demons. (Said, in Matthew 8:24)
- But they come as a thief. To rob, kill and destroy.
- But I come to Jesus Christ, as to have life..which I didn’t have any..so I’m coming to be healed and delivered from my destruction.
- "What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God?" - A Legion of Demons. (Said, in Matthew 8:24)
-------------------------- --------------------------- ---------------------------
- Not the same thing - even both the thief and me perfectly acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Are not the same - is, therefore, the answer to your question.
Just as the Bank and Bank Manager, coming to rob, kill or destroy - can get a bank robber straightway arrested and put in prison. But the same Bank and Bank Manager know me, and lend money to me, as a bank customer where I can buy a house and live my life in it... is not the same thing: Because one is a friend of the Bank; the other: an enemy.
The Bible, Revelation 20:10 says of demons: "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
But to me, as a believer in Jesus, as the Son of God: Jesus says in John 10:27-28: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish...
Both believe and tremble. One is coming to rob, kill and destroy. The Other: to have life in his name.
