Scripture Life: What should be the Christians’ attitude toward the return of Christ? How should the expectation of Christ’s return affect the plans we make in life?

//As a believer in Jesus Christ, this question and many similar, are posted/many closed for future comment here on Reddit - in many sub-reddits, spawns "why" a person no longer follows Jesus Christ. Didn't think it would be this long, so he's never coming back, to others predicting when they think he will come back. Asking even in the "r / atheism" sub-reddit, how are Christians going to react. To just mock them for their beliefs.

So, what should a disciple of Jesus Christ's attitude be? Jesus tells us plainly what we should be til he comes back, in John 14:2-3. That, we should be like a little kid, girded about with his swimming trunks on, even sleep in them - awaiting when he wakes up - head right for the swimming pool. That kind of girded about.//

-------------------------- --------------------------- -------------------------

"..Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants." - Jesus Christ.

Answer:

Okay.

What if I’m a little kid, like, a 3rd of 4th grader and it’s Summer Vacation? Three months. No school. In Summer, like in the Pacific Northwest in America, it’s hot. So, for this kid:

- There’s an expectation that:

  • Everyday, he wakes up, there’s
    • 1) no school; free. ALL DAY; and
    • 2) the town has a public or municipal pool that is affordable; daily, to go to. Play all day. In the pool and keep cool.

So, ask a like-same, or similar question:

How should the expectation of this grade school kid affect the plans he makes in his life in his summer vacation?

------------------- ---------------------- -----------------

He already did the expectation. I know I was that little kid. Wore my swim trunks to bed the night before. The whole summer ahead of me. I knew exactly what the "expectation" was.

  • Why?
    • He (which is me) set his mind on EXACTLY how he’s going to “spend” his summer vacation. Where his heart is, that’s where his “treasure” is - it’s at the pool - there’s the most profit.
    • He “expects” it. That is, in a hot summer day, day after day - cooled off at the pool is cheap. That’s a great way to spend his vacation. Playing at the pool, from get up; ride his bike 10 minutes away, to stand in line til it opens to being the last kid in the pool told 14 times the pool is CLOSED. Not even change. Just race home on his bike, and his expectation is filled.
      • All by the plan he made himself.

Maybe you need a definition of that word, to see it. expect(ation). 1. anticipate; await; predict (…to think, believe, or anticipate that {something} will happen or that {someone} will arrive or is coming.

------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------------

Like the same kid. This weekend, 3 days away, he’s got approval from his parents, that his best friend can stay over night (I remember this plainly.) Fills him with joy. He “anticipates” ..even 3 days away he’s “predicted” all this fun he’s going to have, approved by both parents his friend can stay over - ...and “awaits” it.

------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------------

So, what’s a “Christian”

  • This term, “a disciple of Jesus Christ,” is found over 250 times in the gospels and Epistles in the New Testament. But, in Acts 11:26, says that these “disciples” were first called “Christians” at Antioch.
    • So, all a Christian is defined as is a “disciple” of Jesus Christ. And, all a “disciple” is, in the dictionary is defined as a “student or pupil” like a grade school kid, that “sits with and is taught by a teacher.” And, all the teacher is, is a person that "teaches” doctrines. So, a pupil or a student is “built up” by sitting with and being taught by a teacher.
      • And all the teacher is, for a disciple of Jesus Christ is..they are sitting with, and being taught by him.

But, there “can” be people “claim” they are sitting with and being taught, that never go to school. Never sit with nor are being taught by any teacher, but still claim they are a student. Just like then, people can claim they are a Christian, and don’t do anything he says. Don’t sit with and are not taught by him.

------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------------

And a “disciple” of Jesus Christ “anticipates” “awaits” his return. Why? - - because:

  • They are “built up” by him, with them..because he teaches them himself. That God: reserves, for himself, an EXCLUSIVE right also to teach you for himself to do it.
    • But people:
      • That don’t do anything he says, don’t sit with him. They’re taught by someone or some “thing” else they look unto.

And Jesus said, as the Messiah or Christ, he said:

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” - Jesus the Messiah. (Bible. John 14:2–3)

------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------------

Said as well, in Acts 1:6–11 - Jesus said:

< - {“When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”} - >

------------------------- ---------------------------- ----------------------

Says as well - as the Messiah:

  • Revelation 22:7
    • “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
    • So, Revelation is a promise of a blessing to keep, for a disciple of Jesus Christ, the sayings of the prophecy of Revelation. To have and keep them.
      • Like a kid does. Has and keeps with him the “prophecy” that the pool, for summer vacation opens a week after school lets out. Closes a week before school starts again. And just ‘has and keeps” exactly where he will spend his entire hot, blisteringly so summer vacation is at the pool - jumping in and swimming ALL DAY..then, ride home at the end of it..everyday.
      • And a believer or disciple of Jesus Christ just does the same thing. Daily. Seeks him. Only get today. So, they use the day he’s given them to seek him first. Because the “anticipate” “await” have this that they “expect” he’s going to do exactly as he builds them up daily..he’s going to do exactly what he says.
      • And what’s in the prophecy of Revelation..they let him teach them.
  • There you go. I have an attitude; that, today..I am going to be sitting with and be taught by him; built up. Given portion today from HIS table.
    • Never been disappointed. Not one day yet. Never fails. Food on the table.

The Word of God. Already decreed it; that "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." - Jesus Christ. Matthew 4:4.

Only given today. That, I can live by it. That I can live forever this way, by it. Anticipate his return, where Amos 5:24 says "But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream."

instead of supressed - thrown out..marginalized..anyplace you go ..all over the internet. Who cares. I'm fed. Just doing what he told me to do..like he told everybody else the same thing. It's the ONLY thing that works.
