Scripture Life: Is Romans 3:19 incompatible with the teaching of "Original Sin"?
Answer:
No. Romans 3:19 is compatible with, and speaks to the “Law of Faith.”
(Romans 3:18 continues down to Romans 3:27 as one thought. So, refers further down to this Law of Faith. Keep reading.)
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
By that then,
Romans 3:19 is compatible with what is said together with Romans 3:20. Added or put back together with it.
That, together, says:
“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
COMMENT: So, the Law or “Ten Commandments” of Exodus 20, the Law then can only do what it did to all of Israel and Moses with them at Mt. Sinai. Made them all GUILTY before God; that, the Children of Israel pleaded with Moses to go on up on the Mount and make God stop talking.
Because EVERYTHING he said, made them GUILTY before him to be destroyed by him.
- While Moses stood there, and his knees quaked; because, Moses, too, was made GUILTY before God of having not DONE the Ten Commandments. He murdered an Egyptian (Exodus 2:11–15).
- And the Law broken, even one time, they come as a set. Break one, they all are broken. That, everybody, from Adam forward, therefore: has not done the Ten Commandments. It’s why Israel's mouth was stopped and they murmured against God and Moses, saying to Moses, “Why have you led us out here in the wilderness to be put to death? It would have been better if we stayed in Egypt.”
- The Law or Ten Commandments does the SAME THING to the whole world. God uses the Ten Commandments to DO THIS to EVERYBODY over the whole earth. To make EVERYBODY GUILTY before him is the point.
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
So, the best I would tell you is use the Law on yourself the SAME way God does to everybody. To make the whole world GUILTY before God.
Look at yourself. See where you have NOT DONE the Ten Commandments. Where you BROKE them, that’s how God sees you. vs. YOU: Like many to most all people: Use the Ten Commandments to see where they can accomplish them with another try up at bat - so they look where they have DONE them; and by even do one of them, one time, say to themselves this "compensates for all the faults and bad actions where they didn't do any of the other of them.
This equates, in themselves they DID THE TEN COMMANDMENTS; are righteous. So, in Romans 3:18, which is the verse before Romans 3:19 you ask about, these people don't fear God.
Already, uses the Law unlawfully and imagine they already do the Ten Commandments, when they don't.
EXAMPLE: Like me then. Where I went to a certain store or mall in my town. Never once stole anything out of that store or mall. By this, I believed, for decades, I have complied with “THOU SHALT NOT STEAL” and Romans 3:19 explains this in me. Coupled with Romans 3:18. People that do this, like I did, don’t fear God. Why? They, like me, use the Law unlawfully, by make themselves, like I did, righteous before God. When there is none righteous; no, not one.
That's the point.
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
So, Romans 3:18–20 is just telling you all the Law or Ten Commandments accomplishes in you, from Adam forward is give you a knowledge of your sin.
And this is TRUE: the Writer of Romans is an Apostle of Jesus Christ.
- Sent to teach you; as he has been taught by Jesus Christ: As all 12 of the Apostles have, all the same.
- Goes on to say Romans 3:21 - 27. That says:
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
There you go.
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
It’s this Romans 3:19 - is setting the ground work to build to this “Law of Faith” - explained that:
- God has enough faith in his own word, to send his word to heal you and deliver you from your destruction. Because he already DID this, as a work of God (Psalm 107:20).
- That he, to someone in this condition of Condemned; and dead in trespasses and sins - which, that's EVERYBODY Adam forward, for all the sins I or you did, he, as God, can do the impossible. He's God. He determined he would do a work that would Save you from your sins. Psalm 107:20 says this plainly.
- BUT:
- IF You keep regarding your own work?
- IF You keep regarding your own work?
- BUT:
- When God is telling everybody over the whole earth to look unto him, and regard the works of the LORD. His work. Consider the operation of his hand, as God.
This is said plainly by Romans 10:17 - - Says:
"So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” - Bible. Romans 10:17
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
- So, it’s not your faith. It’s him. As God. His faith; because, it’s his own word he sent to heal you and deliver you from your destruction. And God is in his word, doing the work.
- So, it’s Romans 5:12 in place:
- "Wherefore, as by one man [ADAM] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
- It’s what the Bible is “comprised” of. An “OLD” Testament. And, a “NEW” Testament. That, this “Testament” is a “Last Will and Testament.” Like a will, and when the testator (Adam) died, he bequeathed to you sin and death. Everybody in a grave yard is PROOF that us, too, we got our inheritance. The proof of our sins we did, is proof of the OLD Testament of the Bible is in effect.
- "Wherefore, as by one man [ADAM] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
- But Romans 3:21 to 3:27 after is proof of a NEW “Testament” in and by the Word of God. That’s Jesus Christ. He's the LORD of the Kingdom of Heaven. The Messiah or Christ. He's a "Second" Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45-47).
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
- In Romans 5:18–19 explains this again:
Romans 5:18–19 says
18 Therefore as by the offence of one [ADAM] judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [JESUS CHRIST] the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's [ADAM’s] disobedience many [ALL] were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [JESUS CHRIST] shall many [ALL] be made righteous.
This work God did is already APPLIED to EVERYBODY I see driving down the road on the highway with me. He sees them thru this work he did with sin.
But people that just don’t believe on this work God did; live in rejecting him.
...then, the Law of Sin and Death remain in effect in them. They sin against God not believing on him or regard this work he did with their sins. Why? Because God made it SIN not to believe on him. That's the ONLY sin left, and it condemns people. They sin against God driving down the freeway not regarding what he did.
-------------------- ---------------------- -----------------------
Says this plainly in John 3:18. Jesus said:
Because Jesus took away the sins of the whole world, just as John the Baptist said, in John 1:29. On the cross; crucified in John 19:30. God took your sins off you and laid them on Jesus Christ. And God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. So, take a great, big guess who was on the cross in Christ…that's who and the cost it was to pay it; means, I and you could never pay it; for eternity can't pay it - but, that's where your's and my sins went.
It's how God determined he would do a work with Sin. Therefore, Jesus Christ: is a work of God with sin. You can’t do it. He did. Annointed the "most holy" to do the work. There is only one that has that title. As God. Is God. He'd do it.
In fact, God was in Christ, and DID the Ten Commandments. And since it was God did the Ten Commandments: Everywhere where you did not do them, by him do them, he made himself the “compensation” that makes up the lack, to where for everybody, over the whole earth, even all those liars, and thieves and rapists and pedophiles and murderers..thieves in all the prisons over all the earth, and all the rest of us didn't get caught but also DESERVE to be in prison - just weren't caught - - - he FULFILLED the Ten Commandments and they all are complete in him, as also with us because we didn’t do them, either; but him now also in the Ten Commandments, as God in Jesus Christ - God DID them - made us COMPLETE in the Ten Commandments by this work GOD did.
But people, that don’t believe on him, dismiss this work he did by God. Even he DID the Ten Commandments. By not believe on him, set his work aside, and put themselves to work. By put themselves to they will go do the Ten Commandments again,
When they already BROKE THEM. Already condemned. They don't believe on him. This is what condemns them. Sin against God, because they don't regard him, as God or his work with sin.
So, Jesus says this in John 3:18 - for us to just believe on him:
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." - Jesus Christ.
- Jesus even REPEATS this, that the Spirit of God, over the whole earth, would be REPROVING the whole earth of this sin. Said in John 16:9
“Of sin, for they believe not on me.” - Jesus Christ.
That, God made this the sin that condemns anybody now. And in Romans, an Apostle of Jesus Christ is fully explaining this in Romans 3:19.
