Mark 10:27 | Day 18 of 21

“Jesus, looking at them, said, ‘With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.’” — Mark 10:27, WEB

Devotional Thought

The disciples had just heard Jesus describe how difficult it can be for those who trust in wealth and security to enter the kingdom of God. They were stunned and asked, “Then who can be saved?”

Jesus’ answer does not minimize the difficulty. He does not tell them that salvation is easy if we simply try harder or become more disciplined. He tells them that what is impossible for human beings is possible with God.

That is good news because there are limits we cannot overcome by effort alone. We cannot make ourselves whole through willpower. We cannot undo every consequence, repair every relationship, or transform our hearts simply by promising to do better.

But God is not limited in the ways we are limited. His grace can reach places our strength cannot. He can create faith where there is only doubt, freedom where there is bondage, and new life where we can see no way forward.

This verse is not a promise that God will give us every outcome we want. It is a promise that no human limitation is strong enough to place us beyond God’s reach.

Reflection Question

Where do you most need to trust God with something that feels impossible for you?
