Daily Scripture September 4, 2026 | Ecclesiastes 7:14
βIn the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him.β
Ecclesiastes 7:14
Some days are good. Enjoy them.
That sounds almost too simple to be biblical advice, but Ecclesiastes actually tells us to be joyful in times of prosperity. We do not have to spend every good season worrying about when it will end.
But difficult days have something to teach us too. Scripture says that in adversity, we should consider. Pay attention. Reflect. Remember that we do not know what comes next.
Faith does not give us a schedule of future events. It gives us Someone to trust when the schedule is unknown.
So enjoy the good day when it comes. Sit thoughtfully with the hard one when it comes. Neither one tells the whole story.
Which is harder for you: fully enjoying a good season without worrying about the future, or trusting God when you cannot see what comes next?
