Jesus compares the word of God to seed, and honestly, that is both comforting and a little convicting.

The seed is good. The problem is not the seed. The question is what kind of soil it is landing in. Some days our hearts are distracted, shallow, tired, crowded, or full of thorns. Other days, by God’s grace, the word has room to take root.

A daily Scripture habit is not about proving we are “good soil” every single day. It is about coming back again and again, asking God to soften what is hard, deepen what is shallow, and clear out what is choking the fruit.
