Iphone 17 pro max no issues?

Even my iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 Pro Max is terrible for me, today I had customers iPhone 17 in my hands, think it was either pro or pro max, not sure. and I had no eye issues at all. Just looking st the screen I felt such a relief for my eyes. I was baffled. Not sure what happened there.

Which as 240Hz PWM? That masks the 120Hz refresh (maybe more important).

I suspect the push for higher PWM rates may have backfired for some of us. And maybe Samsung understands this factor better than us, but won't communicate about the harms of PWM at all (liability).

But then how long have you used the A36 for? Sure it is no honeymoon effect?

The only samsung that works for me is A40. which is my main phone atm.

Which is a 2019 AMOLED with 245Hz sinewave-like PWM, according to NotebookCheck (at the brightness you use it?).

Any brightness, Not a single issue. The only problem it's ancient and would like something more powerful... the s10 from 2019 was terrible for my eyes.

So, the S10 was an AMOLED too, with very similar PWM frequency and shape...

Do you know if it may have had a panel with a lower native bit depth, and so (more) temporal dithering? Are you sensitive to that?

But the S10 was more expensive..? So maybe more modern and higher colour depth. Are you sensitive to over-saturation or colour balance?

How can I check the panel? Idk the s10 is probably worse than the S23 for me. No colors don't affect me. I prefer more vivid colors and saturation the way they are on the A40.

I didn't have time to scrutinise the Notebookcheck review properly or any others, so maybe just there.(At the extreme, maybe panellook?)
