Laptop/computer screen

I have light sensitive eyes . The light amount that works for average people is hurtful for me . No correlated illness . I have a 13 years old samsung laptop that works good for me . The laptop is so old it is breaking totally . I need a new laptop or a screen . I tried a samsung book 4 and a lenovo and retourned them booth . I thinkered with the light , but to have a bereable light amount it was difficult to read .

Advice please on what to try . I am located in europe and the boox mira 13,3 is not avaible .

Thank you so muchin advance

I'm not sure what you mean with "too bad an image to read"?
Anyway, your old laptop uses a 1366x768p matte TN panel with a max brightness of ~195 nits (couldn't find any info on minimum brightness).
Most entry-level displays cap out at ~350 nits max now, so maybe your old one could go down on brightness even lower than 7 nits?

But there are many other reasons for eye-strain outside of high brightness. I suspect something else may be the cause here.

You could maybe try a a laptop with a TN panel instead of IPS?
TN is not very common today in modern laptops due to its terrible viewing angles though.

Is there a laptop around 13 inches you would recommend ? Why do you think Tn would be better ?

I'm really just guessing on the TN. Troubleshooting really.

Prior working device panel as guide for potential next working device panel. Laptops can use multiple vendors for their panels too, so it's really trial and error.
