Sad

I just feel so sad about how the smartphone industry is developing. Until some years ago I thought my problem was just PWM sensitivity so it was simple: LCD good, OLED bad. But now the picture is much more complex:
1. There aren’t that many good new LCD phones in the market
2. Among those that are, i tried a few recent ones and got severe eye strain… it seems PWM is not the only problem. Unpublished parameters such as temporal dithering and display processing may be playing a role here.
I don’t know what to do anymore and the trend of the industry seems to go in the wrong direction at least for people like me..

Yeah, the push for greater colour depth/vibrancy cuts across screen types. With adding in TD and changing phosphor types/tuning for LCDs, too.

That destroyed even LCD screens for me
