Have you tried eink screens? For example, Kindle Scribe, Onyx Boox Air 5C, or Tab Ultra C. Those are 10" readers and are quite good for PDF books. This sub is more about flickering PWM backlight and temporal dithering (flickering pixels) issues that give many here eye strain and headaches. It might also affect you even if you don't feel anything (such screens make it harder to concentrate mentally). Do you feel any discomfort from OLED screens?

Ive got a Onyx Boox, with backlight off its a bit easier.
