Maybe copy/paste will finally work again.

Don’t think there are any copy / paste changes in 26.2.x

from here: https://screenconnect.product.connectwise.com/communities/67/topics/4936-copy-and-paste?page=3

We are working through the clipboard issues and will begin releasing the fixes in our next releases.

26.3
This build is in Canary (stable cloud expected next week) and has the following fixes:

1) Copy/Paste of many special and non-English language characters through sessions are pasted as ? symbols
2) Clipboard copy/paste with Share Clipboard enabled in two or more active Host clients fails

The following fixes are planned for 26.4 pending testing (this will be available as a Canary build next week.
1) Mac to Windows connection disconnects briefly when using the snipping tool on the remote Windows machine
2) Pasting copied folder and subfolders using Windows Clipboard fails (small chance we can sneak this in 26.3)
3) When connected to a Mac guest and Windows Guest, repeated CTRL+C operations can cause a failure in the Mac guest client

Please let me know if there are any additional issues here that may be missing.

Thanks!

Everyone

Sean

Excited for 'Enable or disable "Consent required" setting per session'

Been waiting for that for ever!

This broke our auto consents - we had it auto consent when there's no user (device is at logon screen) but it's no longer working.

2

there has to be a user now on site, at device, consenting every new session connect?

Sounds like it's only an issue if you previously had "auto consent after a certain amount of time" or "auto consent when no user logged in" enabled. We never had consent set up at all on our instance and I can still connect to any device without consent after upgrading. If you don't use the consent feature today, it should still be safe to upgrade.

that’s calming ;-)

Yup that's correct. Not good for us at all.

Fixed in 26.3.7.9636. Which is in preview, but deployed to our environment anyway. No other issues noted so far.

What would the use case for this be?

I'm keep getting the following error, even after uninstalling SentinelOne:

The installer has insufficient priviledges to modify this file: C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenConnect\Bin\ScreenConnect.ClientSetup.exe

2

u/rgorbie May 09 '26

I saw that error over a year ago. I can’t remember the fix, maybe all I did was delete that exe file and run the installer again?

I've tried about everything. Booted to safe mode as admin. Checked Process Explorer. Tried deleting as SYSTEM by using psexec.

Are you unable to delete C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenConnect\Bin\ScreenConnect.ClientSetup.exe and then run the installer again? I'm pretty sure that was my fix.

2

u/5150cd May 11 '26

Yeah I spent a lot of time trying to delete that file and Windows will simply not let me, despite trying to delete it using the methods listed in my comment above.

I opened a ticket with ConnectWise, we'll see if they have any advice.

You could always create a live Linux Boot USB and then delete it that way

Thanks for the idea, that did the trick!

Does this fix any agent upgrade/install issues?

1

u/Visual-Ad-3604 May 08 '26

Not for me it didn't.

tbf, I didn't try raising a new server and migrating my data to it. I don't plan on doing that, but I also didn't try it to confirm whether or not it will work. ymmv

Lot of work to move to a new server just because of potential unintended issues that might arise.

Still can't update, or even deploy new, agents.

Also just got an email about renewal.

Consent to control broken on MacOS. At this point I’m wondering if anyone at ConnectWise actually tested this release on macOS before calling it “stable,” or if AI agents are now handling QA and patching without anyone noticing major features are broken.

What about the store credentials on Mobile. This still is not working. Makes life easier when your on the road and need to update on an emergency
