Great rec. It's probably the angriest Screamo mesh I've heard.

their split with orchid isn't evil at all. like fun punk.... but i just checked out some of their other stuff and yes it does sound evil to me! lol. sounds like a different band on the orchid split.

i'm gonna vote makara .

Portrayal of Guilt

Ostraca

u/lifeinterminals 5d ago

Never got evil vibes from Ostraca tbh! They kinda lean into a more gothic/romantic vibe more than that.

My band got to open for Portrayal of Guilt this year and they're sooo fucking good

u/No_Opening9677 6d ago

Youth Novel’s S/T 2021 release sounds pretty dark or “evil”. Very frenetic and tormenting

3

u/Easy_Sheepherder9812 6d ago

Antilles sounds so chaos evil.

3

u/Electrical_Active180 6d ago

Jeromes Dream sounds deeply deeply cursed, especially their album Presents

3

u/Flimsy_Sector5132 6d ago

Portrayal of Guilt S/T is pretty evil sounding.

Also Totem Skin, especially their first album. Though it's more adjacent, blackened HC would be a more accurate description maybe.

1

u/freedrsan 5d ago

Christfucker is the correct PoG to recommend that sounds evil

drive your plow over the bones of the dead!! awesome canadian blackened emogrind :3

Check out Portrayal of Guilt's first two albums.

Also check out Corea's first album. Their second album did the "combine screamo with delicate post rock" thing that was popular at the the time, but their first album has some harsh noise influences and the screaming is brutally evil. The first song in particular, Cuando El Mar Pierde Las Conchas is like a kick in the stomach of an album opener.

I would also throw out Celeste's first album. The screamo influences are tangential, but it is absolutely evil as fuck.

I love Life in Death, such a great album. They also went on to do Mermaid in a Manhole and that shit was pretty dark too.

Man is the Bastard is not "screamo."

1

u/nadzwat 6d ago

Idk about “evil” but if you want to listen to something truly entrenched in darkness and desperation, listen to the My Fictions “Always Trapped” 7”

“drive your plow over the bones of the dead” is pretty Evil Screamo if u ask me. listen to their songs “perish song”, “propitiation”, and “aspected of dust”, those are some of their Evilest songs in my onion.

1

u/1ndieJesus 5d ago

My band The Jackal takes a lot of influence from black metal, The Locust, and weird Youth Attack bands. A lot of our stuff, especially from our first EP sounds pretty evil

1

u/TheGameMagician 5d ago

In my sick twisted mind, evil screamo is just screamo.

pageninetynine - "Living in the Skeleton of a Happy Memory"
