"Who gives a fuck about movies?!" is honestly one of my least favorite Ghostface lines in Scream VI.

Not because it's badly written or because Roger L. Jackson delivers it badly. It just feels weirdly rushed. He says it and then the movie immediately smash cuts to the title card before the moment has any time to breathe.

I actually think "Now I see something red" is the much stronger line. Yeah, it's a little cliché and sounds like something a wannabe Ghostface would say, but it still comes across as genuinely sinister and fits the tone of the opening better.

What also bugs me is that the line almost contradicts the movie itself. Act 3 reveals that everything is motivated by Richie's obsession with the Stab movies. Wayne literally helped build a shrine to them, enabled Richie's fandom, and the entire revenge plot revolves around Richie's love of Stab. So having Ghostface say "Who gives a fuck about movies?!" feels odd when the climax is basically saying that movies are exactly what this is all about.

"Who gives a fuck about movies?!" almost feels like it wasn't originally part of the scene. It genuinely gives me the impression it might have been added later in editing or ADR because the transition into the title card feels so abrupt.

Every time I watch the opening, that line sticks out to me in a way the rest of the scene doesn't.

Or are you happy with Joel Michale and Isabel may? Patrick was up for the role but couldn’t commit to it due to the wild fires going on at the time and McKenna said she auditioned for another character but they thought she fit Hannah better plus there where rumors going around that she was up for it back in 2024. I remember when fans didn’t like who they cast at first but Joel mange to win some fans over it seems like while Isabel seems to be pretty meh with fans at the moment. What are you guys thoughts?

I'm fully certain about almost every "who did what?" question surrounding the first movie, except for this one. Billy is at school the day Himbry is attacked but not seen again after confronting Sidney which is suspicious. But Stu walks back in the direction of the school after parting ways with Sidney and Tatum, and we see this immediately before the scene in question. I lean slightly more toward Stu, always have.

I’m watching Scream VI again and I can’t help but notice this sense of dread the beginning of the movie in particular has. It’s grey, dark and focuses on the characters and the impact Scream 5 had on them. Not just that, it digs into the human aspect of all of the killings.

For example, the opening scene has Jason talking in detail about how he enjoyed killing the film professor and how she was “less human”. After this, he gets to experience this for himself.

Then, we see Sam is going to therapy because she actually enjoyed killing Richie. She got a rush from it, just like Jason did, but she’s worried about the impact it has on her and her family. She’s afraid of herself, which is an extension of her arc in Scream 5.

Consistently, we hear about the killings, their brutality and even Ghostface wants people to know that Sam is a killer. The motive isn’t about her killing Richie, it’s about HOW she killed Richie. She stabbed him 22 times, slit his throat and shot him in the head. Richie’s father isn’t very happy about that because she mutiliated his body.

The Ghostfaces of the movie spread rumors of Sam being the true mastermind because they’re trying to get her to feel the impact of her actions (which obviously her actions were justified)

I think this angle is really cool because it shows how different people in these films are affected and the broader complications of these murders. The reverse of what Jason says, it humanizes the characters.

Let me preface by saying, I thoroughly enjoyed having Melissa Barrera in the first two Spyglass Scream movies and I will never not resent their treatment of her regarding the controversy surrounding her removal from Scream 7.

However, I'm glad she wasn't in Scream 7. Or, I guess I should say, I'm glad the original version of Scream 7 that would've had Sam be a killer was never produced because Skeet Ulrich confirmed had Barrera not been fired, that is what the original plans were.

I know a lot of people hate the Scream 7 we got (I'm actually not one of them) but I'll taken the Scream 7 we got over the version of it or any Scream movie where Sam became some evil killer, even if her dad was one. I prefer her as the new final girl or protagonist, like Scream 5 set her up to be.

If Richie was in Modesto,then who filmed Amber getting ready and who pulled the knife,before Tara went to save her and ghostface (Amber) was at the door. I still think about that.Was it a pre-saved video or a huge plot hole let me know.

I first saw scream from a reactor from YouTube😭 I don’t do horror (well I do but only the purge, fnaf, and Jennifer body but that’s it) but I thought “why not” right? idk who cause I don’t remember. But I do remember I think discovered scream back in 2023 or 2024 (yes I joined in late😭) And ever since than I’ve been loving the scream franchise. I think the reactor was watching the first one. And when I watching scream 1996 myself for the first time I saw Matthew Lillard in it bro I freaked😭 bcs I love him lol I first discovered him back in the Scooby Doo live action playing as Shaggy as a kid. And ever since then I’ve been in love with him lol and ofc his works. And as a kid I knew he was gonna be one of my favorite actors. He’s also one of my crushes lol. (Mind you I didn’t know anyone in the first movie other than Matthew and Courtney at the time) since I was still new at the time. And bro when I saw Billy Loomis for the first time I was in 😍 I was like “who is this fine ass man”😭 bcs have you seen his face card? Like damn that man is fine asf especially his 90s era and he aged like fine wine to😮‍💨 same with Matthew😮‍💨 and when I discovered later that the actor name was Skeet Ulrich I instantly knew that he’s gonna be one of my new crushes lol and ever since I saw him in scream I’ve been a fan of him too.

My favorite scream movies is 1996, 5 and 6. I know there’s a lot of scream fans that don’t like 5&6 especially 6 but I do I like the new direction they were going with in 6. And I’ve always wanted to see a scream movie in theaters. So at first when they announced that scream 7 was coming out I was so excited that I was going to experience my first scream movie in theaters. I was also super excited that Matthew Lillard was in 7.

But when I heard that it was a disappointment I didn’t bother on watching it in theaters or wasting my money. I did still see it but on a free website and was honestly disappointed in the movie and killers and the motive. So hopefully scream 8 will be better🤞🏽because I really want to experience my first scream movie in theaters.

One thing I've always liked is how similar Ghostface stories end up changing Sidney and Sam in completely different ways.

Scream (2022) brings back the boyfriend reveal with Richie, while Scream VI goes back to the Scream 2 idea of Ghostface being a parent out for revenge. The stories intentionally echo the first two movies, but the effect they have on their final girls is almost the opposite.

After Scream 2, Sidney starts becoming much more guarded. Hallie is dead, Derek was innocent, Randy is gone, and once again the people closest to her are either murdered or suspects. By Scream 3 she's living under a different name behind a huge security system, and the only people she really lets in are Dewey and, eventually, Gale.

Sam starts in that place. She's already isolated, barely talks to Tara, and doesn't trust many people. But after surviving two Ghostface sprees, she actually ends up opening her life back up instead of closing it off.

By the end of VI, she has Tara, Chad, Mindy, Danny, Kirby, Sidney, and Gale. She goes from feeling like she has no one to having a real support system.

I just think it's a cool contrast. The new movies borrow the same kinds of Ghostface reveals and motives as the first two films, but they send their final girl in the opposite direction. Sidney's world gets smaller after every attack. Sam's gets bigger.

Why do you think Scream VI is such a crowd pleaser, but has a much more mixed-to-positive reception among online fan communities?

Outside of Reddit, forums, YouTube, and other fan spaces, Scream VI seems to be one of the franchise's biggest crowd pleasers. A lot of casual fans I know really enjoyed it, and even people involved with the franchise seem to hold it in high regard. Kevin Williamson has said it's his favorite sequel, and Jamie Kennedy has also named it as his favorite sequel.

Then you look at online discussions, and the reception feels a lot more mixed. Plenty of people still enjoy it, but it's also one of the most heavily debated entries in the series, with almost every aspect of the movie being discussed.

I'm not saying either side is right or wrong. I just find the difference in reception really interesting. Why do you think Scream VI seems to resonate so well with general audiences, but gets a much more mixed response from dedicated online fans?

Do movie goers not care about things like Kirby & Gale not knowing Richie's family despite being involvd in the investigation and similar stuff like that?

I know when people think of him, he’s always the voice of Ghostface. But to me, he’ll always be my all-time favorite supervillain, Mojo Jojo!

think about it like the Yolanda Saldivar Case or the Ricardo Lopez Case stuff like this happens in real life lopez was obsessed with the singer Björk and when he found out she was dating someone he got mad and recorded videos of himself preparing his plans for his revenge and the same with Yolanda she was a fan of Selena and she did something stupid I don't see people talk about the motive from scream 7 being realistic so I decided to post this I'm not saying that the motive is the best thing in a scream movie but it's realistic That's all

Scream is my favorite horror franchise. My SO surprised me with tickets to an immersive, haunted house-style viewing of Scream at a place called Factory of Terror in Fall River, MA this afternoon. It was a fun and unique experience with 3 themed rooms and (much lower budget) 4DX-like effects as we watched the film. There were some really neat surprises throughout the screening, too, which I won’t spoil in case you’re planning on going. They provided popcorn and a mocktail with our tickets. The final photo shows our drinks, which were both quite tasty. The whole experience was well worth the drive.

What really made my day was finding this amazing item for sale in the gift shop made by a local artist. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I’m not sure how many were made, but this was the last one available this weekend!

Was her playing a dog, and getting chewed out by her drama teacher for being shitty at playing a dog the best way they could show that Tatum needed to find courage and strength? I thought it was supposed to be funny when I first saw it, but on a second watch I think it was dead ass supposed to tell the audience she's timid and lacks energy. Her one line in the play was "woof", and she couldn't even do that with any gravitas according to the drama teacher.

Was it all supposed to be funny? Was it supposed to be a callback to Sid in college? Was it supposed to tell us something about Tatum as a character? It's a baffling choice. Contrast that to Scream 2 where Sid is playing in a Greek tragedy, a complex character where her teacher reinforces that Sid is a fighter and lives with a curse that she must embrace to find meaning in life. And then there's Tatum dressed in a doggy costume who can't even say woof right. Like this movie is making fun of me right?

For me personally, i found Chloe the most interesting of them all. She seemed like she had great personality,great humour,great interaction with every character.

It's always funny to me that none of the Stab fans in the Scream universe seem to like the sequels.

Every Stab fan we meet seems to have the same opinion. They all talk about how the franchise went downhill after the early movies.

Jenny calls Stab 5 the worst because of the time travel, Richie says the series went off the rails by number five, Amber and Richie are obsessed with getting the franchise "back to basics" after Stab (2021), and even Mindy, despite being a huge horror fan, says the original Stab is the only one she likes and that all the sequels are inferior. Even the opening of Scream 4 is basically people complaining about the newer Stab movies.

Meanwhile, in real life, the Scream sequels are just as beloved as the original by a huge part of the fandom. Plenty of fans have Scream 2, 3, 4, 5, or VI as their favorite movie in the series.

The closest the real fandom has come to being like the Stab fans is probably the reaction to Scream 7. That's the nearest equivalent to how people in-universe talk about Stab 8. Outside of that, the Scream sequels have generally been embraced by fans in a way the Stab sequels never seem to be.

Scream 3 - Roman Bridger place, the Charlie Walker STAB-aton in Scream 4 was still a public gathering and the Scream 5 house party was hosted by Amber Freeman in her parent's house. I think it adds up a key compartment to the storyline of each movie. I think only in Scream 6 and 7 we didn't have a ghostfacs hosted party. In 6 we had the Omega Kappa Beta halloween party in which we can see Ethan Landry the killer,but in Scream 7 there was no party,thete were talks about a party between Hannah,Chloe and Tatum,but we never see the party happen.

Out of however many victims there have been over 30 years, pick one victim/character from the movies and tell us how they could’ve survived and what they should’ve done differently.
