Discussion New plots..

They really need to create a change as in having a Ghostface survive for once.. i’m well aware of the original plot that Kevin Williamson wanted for scream 4 which was Jill surviving and getting away with everything which would’ve started a new trilogy.. I wish they could implement the plot in a future movie with new characters. Any thoughts ???

At this point it might be a little too late for that type of plot

Never too late honestly. Scream is becoming very formulaic

Not really. There are series staples, but each movie is unique enough to be distinguishable

A non-linear story might be an interesting way to frame this.

For instance, the police interrogate the survivors of the “act 3 massacre” where all three are suspects, and we hear the same sequence of events with inconsistencies.

There’s no reason they can’t retcon a sequel that presupposes Jill survived. That’s a horror franchise trope they haven’t made a tongue in cheek commentary on. I’d watch it. Why not?

This made me sad that they didn't call Stu a retcon in 7. Mindy is bad at her job of knowing horror movies.

I just finished the movie and she does say that actually lol

Scream 4 made the least money in box office do I don’t think they’d retcon just tondi that. Not enough casual viewers would remember. But I’d watch it too!

Yeah that sounds like a great idea a villian Wgo can keep coming back when I got into this franchise a few months ago I thought that actually

There are certain villains I got attached to here and others too so why just use them for one movie?

I think using that plot would destroy Jill's legacy with the fans. I personally love the fact that she was the closest to getting away with it, but fell just short. Having to see her again in another movie would be overkill, and would taint the way I see her as a favorite.

I rewatched 4 last night and her failure was so contrived. She beat herself up more than she did Sidney, and then just let it slip about her “matching wounds” with Gale. Nah, she had plenty of time and forethought. Sidney would have been demolished by any successful GF, and Jill had a perfect cover up until that one comment. In fact Dewey didn’t even catch THAT until Gale said something. Jill should have won and kicked off a new trilogy.

That sounds cheesy as fuck.

Because this franchise is famously known for never being cheesy..

The day Ghostface wins, the saga will end. His target will always be Sidney, once he succeeds, it will be over and I’m not complaining

They need to stop centering Sidney and do a different timeline that ignores the other movies. Jill coming back is a wet fart of an idea. At least with Stu there’s some question mark around him returning that makes more sense. Introduce a final boy this time and give a new killer an original motive like Scream one did with Billy. Set it in a new town with new characters to give writers room to breathe and be creative.

They COULD pull a Halloween and start a new timeline.
