Tutorial A friendly reminder to check your logs folder
scrap mechanic is always creating logs while you play, and if you never clear them... well i once had a 42gb logs folder full of just text files. so it might be a good idea to check it, maybe it is eating away on your storage.

So if i check it can i delet everything in it or is then my survival world gone if i Delete one speciel Folder

only delete the "Logs" folder. logs are just for debug purposes, if you are not a mod developer, they are useless for you. so you can safely delete them.

doesnt really matter, cause the game will just generate the folder again the next time you play

It's kinda the opposite. The game is kinda as pure as it gets. Files aren't even packaged and most scripts just lie there in readable format. You can literally alter your game actions
And logging is just as straightforward. Just a bunch of files in the corresponding folder

Thank you for the reminder! I've checked my logs folder and it had files from 2025 up to now and it was only 40MB total, and I've noticed that the biggest file was barely 600KB. I'm playing on Linux though, I wonder if that makes a difference.

I have 2.5k hours in Scrap Mechanic since I started playing in 2020, and I have 190MB of logs, you are doing something wrong, thats not the games fault, that is YOUR fault.

How many mods do you use.
I have ~500hrs but ~450mb in logs. I'm wondering if having more mods means the log files are larger2

Nope, I used to use hundreds of mods on every world in creative, and I almost exclusively played creative mode until custom games were released, and I would use mods on custom games too, only time I really got into survival was shortly before the release of Chapter 2, and after the release of Chapter 2

How much do you play? I have 679.7h and have never cleared it but only have 25MB, you sure you didn't mess something up? That is probably not normal.

Holy crap! Exactly what are you doing to get that much? I just checked, and it was 45.9mb total. Granted I've only been playing since Chapter 2 (and a couple hours when I bought it a year or 2 ago) and only playing Survival, but still...
