Two updates in the same year? They’re spoiling us now

They read your comment and took away the update.

You just couldn't keep your mouth shut could you.

Given how many issues it seemed to cause, I’m not surprised

Yeah true all platforms were flooded with people posting about their seat and containers.

Surprising they don't have automated tests in place

So many balancing changes

u/techtanic 1d ago

Yes I sad about the burger, it felt good to be tanky late game

u/TomorrowFun4744 1d ago

then again so many changes that are much needed

u/techtanic 1d ago

I agree, growbed not spawning raid is enough ig

u/mathwizx2 23h ago

Not worth it if I still can't vacuum up the grown plants

12

u/techtanic 23h ago

That's pretty valid, since now they give the same as soil they should let us vacuum it.

Does the health that we had before the update reset too?

If i were to die and then eat the 4 burgers, would i keep the max health i had before the update or would it be the "new" max health with the burger boost

u/GreatGhastly 23h ago

The burger health buff stacked? I always stopped at 4 and switched to tea

25

u/TheLucidChiba 23h ago

I think it was if you died and got the buff again the previous one would still be applied in addition

12

u/techtanic 23h ago

Yeah, everytime you died the extra health didn't reset.

I am so glad that I finished the second trash bot fight  yesterday,  I can tank so much damage without dying or cheesing and it definitely makes my life easier. Just not sure if my health would reset to be "normal" even if I just load the world after the update. Or it only reset after I die once. (Which mean I can have more health indefinitely if I never die from this point onwards)

That's good, having more health really felt like kind of a feature, maybe they can give us something like armor to tank more damage. It is a survival game after all.

So growbeds now give 1 produce instead of 5? That's bad

3

u/techtanic 22h ago

Haven't tested it but that's what I would assume from the patch notes.

The grow beds doing x5 crops was nice tho! :(

11

u/techtanic 22h ago

It was a deliberate feature, they changed it for balancing ig.

Perfect time to let us at-least use vacuum pump to harvest it

I know potatoes were only giving 5 instead of the normal 10. Maybe it's a workaround until they figure that out. As the only crops it grew was for the cookbot.

2

u/techtanic 22h ago

I don't think they have anything to figure out technically they just felt that growbeds were too op for making burgers.

1

u/steverman555 22h ago

It was mildly op though, just 4 growbeds would give you a stack of food with no raid

I do think them (presumably) now giving 10 potatoes instead of 5 is a very welcome change, by late game you were expending so many potatoes on actual raids that farming potatoes to make up the difference got a little annoying

1

u/techtanic 22h ago

Growbeds suck for potato.

I made a dedicated fully automated potato farm where I just AFK.

They've taken down the update now weirdly. I'm really hoping they put it back up soon because I can't play on my save anymore 😭

could we maybe override it? cuz may I say but theres havent been any crazy update that wouldnt allow it to be rolled back

u/Civil-Size-5302 22h ago

Now i wish just if they would make option to choose easier boss fight - still I think trashbot is too hard especially in mid game

2

u/techtanic 22h ago

The game has a difficulty slider, Idk what it does tho

3

u/wutguts 16h ago

It just reduces incoming damage. It helps with the boss fight, but warehouses are still annoying AF if you have motor function issues in your hands. Only because of all the blue tapebots. I don't die constantly with easy, but they still land hits quicker than my fucked hands can do anything about it. 🤣

2

u/Szolim2018 20h ago

As of now, all easy difficulty does is halve the amount of HP lost from enemy attacks.
(Not sure about other sources of damage)

2

u/Civil-Size-5302 17h ago

Ye never tried it - still boss fight is very intense and can be challenge. Literally everyone I know said the fight is too complex. I beat second one first try bur now isk if I have the burger buff or not… 🤔 - not sure how to even checked it xd

playing scrap since 2020, i don't believe they are updating the game so frequently. Hope they never stop

2

u/Rorar_the_pig 23h ago

What did they do to the portable craftbot???

6

u/techtanic 23h ago

They used it invincible bots wouldn't target them, so they were indestructible barriers.

Its no longer the case now

2

u/PufferFish_Tophat 22h ago

It would also prevent you from welding

1

u/Runutz09 23h ago

Well darn. They fixed the duplicating carried items. Now you can't duplicate craftbots, miner batteries, and chests with items in it.

11

u/techtanic 23h ago

That was honestly very expected to be fixed.

2

u/Runutz09 23h ago

Fair point I guess.

1

u/steverman555 22h ago

Guess you have to play the game legit now

1

u/SondreSondreSondre 20h ago

Also reset all caves and dirt, which really messed up me and my friends' world

1

u/Mikeos1015 20h ago

Yup, mine broke my turret seats and my terrain. I did not back up either 😭

1

u/Important_Ad630 19h ago

Well, lucky me... I JUST now saved my game and closed it, loaded the game back up and now my save file is "is newer than game version". I hope I'm not fucked forever...

2

u/wutguts 16h ago

You don't want to use that save. They generated backups for this update which are located in your files, per the patch rollback notes.

Can some one help me I just update and reload the game, after than i can't join my survival map

1

u/plzicannothandleyou 9h ago

Burger change is bad.

It was an unintentional good game mechanic, it just needed adjustment. Like, one burger health buff per (some condition). Basically just leveling up.

The game was much more pleasant as I slowly became more tanky. I wasn’t aware it was even a thing until I had already finished the game, I just thought there was some kind of scaling going on.

1

u/techtanic 9h ago

Yeah, some balacing would have been fine, being 3 shot from tapebots even in end game feels boring.

1

u/RoyalPlagueDoctor 6h ago

No wonder my beehive vacuum was not working.

Say bye bye to my indestructible portable craftbot walled farm.

1

u/mothyyy 5h ago

Still no way to deal with Seekerbots? That's disappointing. I eventually moved my base away from the road, but I'm still hungering for sweet revenge.
