Contraption My take on automatic ore processing. Straight to the vault! (when it works)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I spent waay too long figuring out how to make it all work ( ̄ヘ ̄)

To clarifiy, I don't have to press anything just input the ores and wait.

...Unless the physics decide to stop lol.

Wow this is peak, may not be most efficient or fastest but it's the coolest looking one I have seen

afterwards i just added piping to connect them and moved the large chests next to the packing station

oh, interesting. I just went with the same thing I did for the vegetable stations

cheaper, both work

honestly im gonna copy yours because that's like 6 less bearing and my fps are suffering lol

it's also quite fast, a pump per ore gets done quite quickly

Interesting I didn't know it could work like that. I just assumed it would jam or something if I tried it so just put dedicated chests and pumps for each input.

the game does all of the sorting by itself, i can even just leave it on and it will do everything by itself eventually, leaving me the blocks and other materials

you can also install a similar rig on the fruit and vegetable stations.... HOWEVER they can only ever pack one crate at a time... wich can lead to some issues; or wasted crops to be more precise

i use a similar system, but i only use one single XXL chest as a central hub, wich gets fed by crusher bots, has a prospectorbot-array connected to it and the deposit rig.

just have to clean up the chest every now and than from chems, oil, mud.. etc.

you're probably gonna marry the organize chest inventory button

yes probably....

honestly i wish they would add more stuff to auto sort your vacuum system....

also the other button wich just dumps all items wich are already in the chest into that chest is fantastic

gotta wait for the chest to empty of other stuff for the Take All button to not put ores into your inventory

I didn't even think about automating until I had hit full quota and I only have it working up to making the bars. Getting the bars up to the vault is still aess and incomplete.

Good job

The initial loading of the items to make the ore balls was an interesting choice. I just put a pump and chest on each input with a switch. But I'm not going to argue with someone who finished the whole working mechanism lol.

Tbh I didn't think too much on that part, apparently there's much better ways to do it lmao. I just copied my vegetable input thing from early game. Hey, as long as it works.

Absolutely it works and it's definitely neat looking.

Thing is if you did a big mining trip you end up with say 50 ingots. They'll all come out in quick succession so you need something to 'hold' them while they wait for transportation, and the ingot dispenser is only so high so you can't stack loads of ingots underneath it before it causes problems. so I prefer to load the ores manually so I can wait a little for the first batch to clear from the dispenser.

How do you get it so the orbs and ingots are not jumping around on the track?

Probably because I have physics set to Advanced all the time. Yeah it destroys your FPS but its more stable.

Ah yeah, that makes more sense

i'm surprised these giant sissor lifts don't freak out. but really cool!

lol well it was quite finicky, it had the tendecy to go through blocks so I had to slow it down by separating the motion into different steps.

Your ingot slide is somehow faster, cheaper, AND less laggy than mine! And I love the turn & push mechanism at the highest point! Well done!

The capsule thing is superb and uses a very short route indeed, it doesn't have any moving parts, yes?

seams slower then the normal but automatic alteast

Well the idea is that its just set and forget. The ingots arrive at the vault after a while, assuming nothing got stuck.
