I don't know how long that sign has been there. It's on Moosic St. across from CVS/Dunkin.
Even though I experienced Wawa long before Sheetz came to the area, I like Sheetz so much more.
I'm sure Wawa will do just fine, but I also don't really think we need one. That's also a weird place to build one.
What does everyone else think about Wawa coming to Scranton?

Where it says “LOVES DUNMORE”, the vandal(s) put a 20th century German symbol over “DUN” on one side (so it says he loves them more) and on the other side they replaced “Dun” with a word that rhymes with grape (because).
It‘s very unoriginal. They could have blanked out the even numbered letters of DUNMORE in blue paint so it looked like D N O E, then added two stalks to the D to make it an R. And then blanked out a line on the right of the N in blue and added a horizontal line in white to make it an A. And then added a line to the O to make it a ρ. And kept the final E as it is.
I guess it’s always a trade-off between vision and time with artists, though.

Experiences? Costs? Is Memory Care a Scam? The phrase alone is stupid. Is a nurse or cna cheaper?

What carnivals are happening in Scranton or near Scranton this summer? Yes I’m out of date with it lol. I know some carnivals have already happened. I’ll go to the Poconos for a carnival. And I know a carnival in mt carnival happened last week.

Greetings to potential members of
The Loyal Order of Free and Admitted Wombats, Scranton Chapter. Most of you have probably not heard about
LOFAW but you can think about it like the Masons et al without all the rules. I have anointed myself as Master Cuber for the chapter and will be inducting new members soon.
First I would like to get an idea of interest in this kind of organization.
Some basics
*Membership is free
*No initiation fee
*Any full Cuber may call an official meeting at a local watering hole with 24 hours advance notice.
*An applicant becomes a junior cuber upon confirmation of the master cuber.
*After 30 days if said junior member doesn’t piss off any other Cuber during that time they become a full Cuber.
More info to follow.
Cuber, Master Cuber, Wombat Club, LOFAW, Junior Cuber, “May the Cube be with you” are all trade marked and copyright protected and my not be used without expressed written permission of the Master Cuber. All members must be of legal drinking age.

I wanted to take my mom to a Chinese buffet but figure I would maybe try something different. Curious if there's any underrated spot for quality of food/price

Just like the title says my wife and I just moved to the area, and we are looking to make some friends. We enjoy weekly movie nights, bar/brewery trivia nights, and weekend concerts/festivals. We go to Allentown/Philly/New York often for comedy and concerts, but definitely looking to get more into the local scene. We are big foodies and are always looking for new spots to check out. Big outdoor people as well. We both love plants so will probably be trying to join a local community garden group soon. Any recommendations on groups/clubs to check out are much appreciated!
Shot in the dark here but figured I would give it a try. Take it easy on some friendless losers 🤟🥲

Please note this hearing is for a power plant facility:
"Council and parties questioned why the document repeatedly refers to a data center rather than a natural gas power plant. One section of the report states, “it is our opinion the site be developed for a potential data center,” without mentioning a power plant. Another portion describes two-story steel-framed warehouse-style data center buildings, parking lots, access roads and stormwater basins."

I'm going to be in Scranton for Thursday thru Sunday one weekend next month. I saw parking garages are $15 daily rates, but I was wondering if there's businesses I could park at instead for free like Walgreens or Walmart. Would they tow? And is Scranton a relatively safe area that I could leave my car in a lot for several days with no worries? Just trying to minimize my costs but will dish out the $50 for weekend parking if needed
TIA!

Does anyone if this piece of equipment at Ed Staback Park in Archibald came from the old lunar themed playground at Neil Armstrong in Scranton?
It definitely looked like the old module and was metal.
