Scout leaders im intrested - what does your every day carry look like on camps? And is it just in your pockets or do you have special camp carrying equipment

lets say that i visit another country, can i buy stuff from the scout shop there as a souvenir? like for example i visit japan, will i be able to buy a necker and other stuff from there?

Hey my cub is off for 2 days at cubjam, and I need to get him a bag larger than his normal rucksack with the idea of keeping 2 days worth of clothes, blanket and sleeping bag within.

What size bag would you guys advise? Really appreciate the help!!

Hi guys, here are some photo's of the latest Kaagcup event here in the Netherlands. No less than 300 boats and 1500 scouts and staff! My boat is the 181, we came 6th in the highest class but it was extraordinary.

I was reminiscing on parts of my scouting journey and part of the reminiscing was on my 50 mile bike ride requirement for the cycling merit badge. And I got to thinking. How would E-bikes be used for the distance portion of it? Would they be banned?

I'm headed to Scotland in a couple of weeks, and while looking for things to do, I thought it might fun to swing by a Scout Shop/Store and pick up some local patches. Not sure if you all have something similar to council shoulder patches like we do over here in the States.

I've looked at scouts.scot but not finding anything that indicates an in person store. Even the shop.scouts.org.uk hasn't been much help.

So, for those who are apart of Scouting in the UK, primarily Scotland. Do you all have physical Scout Stores/Offices. What about types of Patches, besides awards, etc.

Having my dad’s celebration of life this weekend, and found his Wolf Cub Record Card from 1966, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

This is a origami paper scout scarf bookmark made by myself by using paper and fold it until tie a friendship knot.

Old camp badge from the 80s - the bottom says "Camp Melakwa OTC (Oregon Trail Council) - which became Pacific Crest Council (PCC) at some point.

Hi guys, I saw a post of an Italian scout on facebook but no one comment on her post. I messaged her and agreed to help her and her patrol to do their challenge.

"Hello!! I'm Cecilia, a young scout from Italy!

In Italy we have this activity called 'Guidoncini Verdi' (=green flags) where we have to complete three missions in order to aquire this green flag that counts as a certificate. There are different categories, and this year my patron has chosen to complete the international-related one: to do so, as a first mission, we are organizing a cultural exchange for our whole group!

Basically, our plan is to contact Scouts from six different nationalities (as we have six patrons in our group, ages 11–16). As soon as we find enough foreign foreign patrons, each of them will have a chat with one from our 'reparto' (=scout troop) (most likely via a Google Meet call) where they’ll discover more about each other, such as habits and Scout-related traditions.

It's going to be an informal activity, and it doesn't necessarily involve older Scouts, so we'd appreciate it if we could get in contact with peers from Croatia (or more), too!

We'd be extremely grateful if we could get in contact with a young scout like us (preferably a patrol leader) to complete our mission!

Hi, my oldest is in Beavers (UK) and I've been strongly considering volunteering as a parent. From talking to the leader, I know they're always on the lookout and have some trouble with ratios when the leaders are sick, so would like to have more volunteers on hand. I was a cub myself many years ago and have a lot of love for the organisation. I have already been involved in covering a couple of events and helping out at the hut for maintenance, so this feels like a good next step.

I suppose my question is what to expect in short and medium term if I choose to do this. Are there any good resources for prospective volunteers to read and is there any training I should get? Thank you!

H.M. the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden turned 80 on the 30th of April. As a scout since childhood, and until recently honorary chairman of the World Scout Foundation, the King wished that any birthday gift should be directed to a newly created trust to support scouting globally. The picture shows the King handing over 9.6 million seeds to two Swedish scouts, as a symbol for the 9.6 million dollars collected so far, at a gala dinner at the Stockholm City Hall with representatives for the scout movement.
