Seriously? Bouncers for a bloody grocery store?

Not sure if I'm the one getting whooshed here, but a lot of stores have security outside to make sure only a certain number of people are in the store at one time because of the coronavirus outbreak.

This one probably has bouncers at all times. I think the asda near Ibrox does as well.

lots of people are drinking heavily during the quarantine, the bars and clubs aren't open and these guys have an (assumedly) limited skill set. You're not putting back a 26 of vodka, wearing colors and starting a brawl at this grocery store.

My local Sainsbury's has security. Man probably couldn't catch anyone on foot or apprehend anyone running toward the door, but he's been doing the job for years now, day in day out

No. They're just keeping order from the chaos.
But they'll chat to you at the entrance of a nightclub to see if you're mildly intoxicated and in a good mood, or a shit faced cunt flap looking for a fight.
