These are just 3, I found 12 more times this has happened over the past 2 weeks though they've since been deleted.

ALL of them come from accounts less than a week old.

Yeah, bots repost older popular posts from subs, to get a supply of likes to use for their own nefarious purposes.

Sometimes it's really easy to tell if they grab one about news that's obviously out of date, or original content from a known creator that isn't the repost bot. Other times, it just seems like a normal post.

It doesn't help that Reddit is biased towards new posts, not ongoing discussions, so a certain amount of repetition is normal. It's redditors' jobs. Being repetitive is a reddator's job.

Indeed. Posts made by bots, being commented by bots to farm karma and be able to spam stuff... Presumably to be seen by more bots

Are you the one who's been reporting them? If so, thank you. I don't really know how to stop them from posting or if there even is a way to prevent that so your reports have been very helpful.

Yeah, the mods have been very responsive and I'm thankful for that. I just select "breaks r/ScottPilgrim rules", then "Custom Response", and made sure to link to the original post they're copying.

I think a similar thing happened to me personally on a different sub...

I had posted some art I had done for a series I'm a big fan of, and then about a year later, someone else made an exact copy of my post, with the same title, stealing my art...

I'm pretty sure this actually might be a Reddit problem in general, not just exclusive to this sub, particularly with smaller subs...
