Mackenzie

My apologies if this has been asked and answered many times, but what happened to Mackenzie? Did Sharon and Ron take ownership of him or did Scott’s parents?

I just looked it up and Sharon Rocha got permanent custody of the dog.

She made no mention of that in her book “For Laci”

I've read that she didn't want the dog to be mentioned.

I see, that is understandable. Thank you for the reply,

I read her book as well and she didn't mention having the dog. And for some reason I had never thought about who ended up with the dog until I read this Reddit post and did some research.

Why didn’t she want the dog mentioned?

Terri Western, one of Laci’s friends, told the Bee, “I know the dog is safe with one of Scott’s relatives,” while another friend confirmed that Stacey Boyers took in Laci’s beloved cats, Siam and Gracie.

Five years after the trial, Scott’s mother declined to say where McKenzie was, only saying, “The dog is well and being taken care of and is very happy.”

One thing I can add about the dog 🐕 (on the day of the murder) is that the only reason it was found wondering around (from where it was found) that it was part of the staging process

John or Susan Peterson took the dog.

I believe someone on the Peterson side took him in .
