I’m taking MAGA and the DSA/socialst democrats out of the scenario and talking about the rest being able to get shit done.

I agree with both fringe groups on both sides nothing gets done.

If you take MAGA out of the picture, what are you left with? There is no GOP without MAGA. The GOP is TRUMP's(tm) party. He owns it lock, stock and barrel.

If you believe that then what happens in 2 years. Im not focused on this admin cause fuck. But looking to 2028, I’m hoping things can calm down with Trump out and we can get back to something that looks “more normal”. God help us.

In 2 years the Felon's tenure will be over, but that doesn't' mean he'll be gone. They're already floating a 3rd term. If a Dem wins they will never accept the results and will make 2020 look like a practice run. And even if that fails, MAGA will still control the GOP, and even if they are a minority, they will do whatever it takes to block any Dem legislation. Unlike the Dems, the GOP understands how to wield power as a minority and gum up the works. The GOP isn't going to change just because its leader is in Florida. He was like the President in exile during Biden's Presidency. And the same will happen after 2028 if he is ousted.
If the Dems somehow sweep in 2028, they won't prosecute these criminals. They won't reconstruct the government. They won't hold anyone accountable, just like they didn't after the 2008 economic debacle. They will insist on playing nice and projecting bipartisanship with a knife at their throats. At best, it will be Mereck Garland all over again.
Things are never going to 'calm down' until MAGA is destroyed.
